It's like if Wal-Mart, Gamestop, Best Buy, and every other major electronics chain decided not to carry a game out of the blue, for no good reason. Developers of the games Huniepop, Tropical Liquor, and Mutiny! have all been requested to censor their games by Steam, however it is unknown if Steam provided a specific list of content which must be censored.
In the case of HuniePop, the current build does not contain nudity in any way, shape or form, and does have any depiction of full sex.
The game Mutiny!! contains no sexual content, either. Additionally, the developers of the game (Lupiesoft) met with Valve developers and were told that content of the nature their game had would be fine on Steam.
Note that other games on Steam with extreme adult content remain up for sale:

- The Witcher Series (nudity, animated sex)
- Metro: Last Light (nudity, implied sex)
