My brother had one of the old MS optical mice with the ambidextrous side-buttons (because he's a lefty) and it was OK but it was hardly the best mouse and it was never revolutionary. I always preferred two thumb buttons on one side.
After the 360 debacle, the 360 RRODs, the 360 d-pad that should never have made it out of testing, the Surface issues with the unresponsive pens and keyboard covers and the overheating, the Xbone controller problems, the Xbone Elite controllers literally falling apart, and MS updates literally stopping certain hard drives from working at all, you're a damned fool if you buy MS hardware.

Most people with disabilities are mainly on a PC anyway. You've done fuck all to convince them to move platforms because there are infinitely better devices better suited to their individual conditions on what is obviously the most customization friendly platform on the market. Instead you've gone for a platform who's entire reason for existing was to reduce the complexity and put everyone on an equal footing as far as hardwares concerned to make developers lives easier.. except now they have to cater to all sorts of fucking crazy control schemes..

That's actually a cool idea with a lot of possibilities. It's a disservice to relegate it exclusively to disabilities, though. This seems particularly useful for hobbyists and game makers to make arbitrary controllers that map easily to the standard controls, and also a nice solution to remappable controls for games that don't allow it, just by mapping the switchboard. Imagine getting a Steel-Batallion-style controller and being able to map it and use it in arbitrary games. Being able to pair it with a controller means you can use standard controls for a game and map other buttons to foot pedals (or use your feet for the analog controls) for better control.
You could never have to fuck with claw grip again on Monster Hunter because you can relegate the right stick to your foot.
Unfortunately, it will never meet its full potential, and will only be used for the disabled.
