I am unable to get excited by this, I never wanted STALKER to have its series tarnished in the current year. The devs have left GSC, and the guy who runs it uses the funds to buy himself new cars. Every successor game to STALKER has been trash that follows trends and has microtransactions, DLC, and other cancer that's going to be in this game in all likelihood.

Sergey gave development lead to his smaller brother who cares more about game dev. Said smaller brother actually got together a new team and made a sequel to Cossacks. They're capable, otherwise they wouldn't even bother attempting to make Stalker 2. Also, the old team(s) took way too long to develop the original games and did it inefficiently and got fired for it. It really depends on the type of place you want to make in 2. For 1 it's pretty unlikely there would be more than a small amount since most settlements were pretty small and compromised by mainly mercs and artifact hunters By my guess most of the women in the Zone would be there primarily for male "entertainment" or simply as a worker in one of the faction settlements assuming the place was larger.
And I'm assuming the settlements in Stalker 2 will be larger simply because of better technology in real life and because the region would likely have more population density due to the incidents from the first game which likely went national if not global. A stronger military influence for example might be a possibility. I imagine there might be some female treasure hunters in the game as well but that would likely be in the 1-3% region.

I already played Operation Genesis long before Stalker, that's why I didn't feel much captivation for Stalker. I didn't like the gunplay either, and the projectile system didn't amaze me too because such a thing already existed in the much much older Delta Force games. I did play SoC a lot and completed CoP multiple times, but the rough edges of those games infuriated me. CoP did fix the gunplay and RPG elements, but on the other hand it also ruined everything else fun about SoC. Very sad because they had a lot of potential.
Were they that special either though? GTA IV looks much more impressive, and it's only a year younger than STALKER.

GTAIV is an extremely impressive game, and certainly trumps GTAV in many aspects mechanically which shows how good it was but also how much of a downgrade V is. Comparing it to stalker, well, I think it definitely holds up better than vanilla, but I don't think it's particularly impressive compared to current mods, and I don't think the replayability is that great. I've played through GTAIV 3 times, and I'm probably done with it; yet I've put over a thousand hours into various stalker mods, with no end in sight.
With the right mods, you can turn the series into a slavic milsim with mutants, and that's a beautiful thing.

ahh, just one pike and shot game that's not shit. It's Stalker, you spend a lot of time walking through nothing so I'd be fine with just making them contiguous, having skirmishes move between locations, or even being able to have the AI respond to events in other locations in other fashions, either deploying troops, moving to alert status or firing mortar rounds into that location, I think it could enhance the game, a lot, and loading screens do work against immersion. I still think vehicles could be of value, the map could easily be designed to limit vehicles between locations, by making them vehicle magnets that don't protect shit, which they absolutely are in a fire fight, by making driving or stalking viable across many different situations or by having vehicles with utility that allow you to clear debris, or retrieve objects, the value of vehicles is quite significant and with the amount of road blocks, destroyed roads, and just flat claustrophobic locations pre balance vehicles for much of the game.

I really hope they do something interesting with controllers. I remember their was some idea for a mod, where the player turns his weapon slowly on himself when he gets too close. Not saying it has to be that, but something more creative than the controller throws bad energy at you would be nice.
Also, visual and audio hallucinations (that go beyond spinning and a bit of ambient) like in wind of time or ogse would be nice.

The original game was decent but Metro is a linear FPS with individual missions. Why you're even posting such a comment is beyond me because of how fucking retarded you are. Metro and SoC are very different games that happen to be FPS's. The new one is an exception to an extent by being open world but I'm about as optimistic about it as I am Stalker 2 and the Metro sequel was worse than Clear Sky dipshit.
