If youre a twat that makes money off streams or wants to, it gives you a direction to help drive traffic and incentivizes the game to play. It seems to provide a game key as well, so even if its just temporary, its essentially a free game. Look at it this way: they're paying you to blindly play their game for an hour.
This seems like a move that actually helps the streamers for once. For devs it lets them advertise their shit. For regular fucks like you and me, we won't care because we don't watch Twitch streams.

Who is this even geared for? The really big names are making so much goddamned money that $100 is what they wipe their ass with. The medium-to-large-sized streamers are almost invariably focused on a single game, like Fortnite or League, since once they get their "brand" focusing on that one game gives them a steady viewer count and, thus, a steady income rate. They're not going to change from their chosen game for $100; a lot of them can get that much just in tips or new subscribers/resubs. That leaves the small streamers…and if this thing launches without a "minimum viewer count" requirement I'll eat my goddamned hat, so they'll be left in the cold too.
I don't see this being used by ANY streamer outside of a handful of medium-sized variety streamer, which are already pretty rare. Maybe a couple of hundred viewers on a constant basis? That's not the kind of exposure the marketing department is going to want.
tl;dr They're going to need to bump that payout like 10x if they actually want the program to get anywhere.

That's not true at all. There are plenty of small streamers playing games that require lots of skill to master, and even in the realm of bigger streamers you would have something like shroud playing PUBG and being clearly better than anyone else he's fighting. Maybe the game doesn't have the absolute highest skill ceiling, but his reaction time, accuracy, and recoil control (honed-in from his CS:GO days no doubt) make him pretty impressive to watch at times.
So yeah 99.99% of Twitch streamers aren't worth watching, and the ones that are are only good for maybe 30 mins once in a while if you are trying to learn something specific watching them. Then you turn them off and go about your day.
