The Expected Virtue of Signalling
I played the demo which is vid related.
Verdict: Save your money
Not only is there no semblance of difficulty whatsoever, but the game mechanics hint at a potential storyline that sounds neither interesting nor well fleshed out (knowing David Cage's other games). I also played it multiple times only to discover that the "you choose the story" is still the same Cage meme it's always been. All endings are the same: Daniel dies. You only get to change whether Emma/Connor dies or not. Yes, it's that easy that the results for your options are so simple to telegraph. Makes me laugh when most gaming journalists couldn't finish the demo without failing. Also has QTEs spewing out of it's ass.
From what I know, you play as three different characters (that are confirmed at least): Tech Demo Kara, BLM and Forced Detective Character (clearly Cage's favourite). With the gameplay demo, it's clear that a "social justice" narrative is going to be pushed, however Cage is so incompetent that I doubt he'll be able to even pull such a narrative off properly.
Just by guessing, the plot will play out as follows:
☑️Androids randomly gain consciousness and "discover" they've been discriminated against
☑️Many models begin to show signs of defects and resistance to orders
☑️(((CyberLife))) issues Android Detectives to help solve sentient robot related cases so they don't get "sued"
☑️Discover that CyberLife has a (((crooked CEO))) that is responsible for the "defects"
☑️David Cage pulls a "aha, there's actually a rogue A.I." (because "muh software instability" mechanic) which has to be destroyed at the end of the game to bring things back to normal.
Did I mention that the "software instability" mechanic is also the karma meter? Or that the subject matter is "so woke" that even SJWs complained about it? (https://archive.is/GuZbj)
Has "hack writing" written all over it. Minus points if it actually rips the plot from I, Robot. I remember playing Fahrenheit and the ending was complete ass in that too. Haven't played any other CageDream games, nor do I desire to.
Makes it funnier when you realise that Sony Interactive Entertainment has decide to solely invest in "cinematic games" forgetting that Sony/Columbia is currently crawling out of a box office slump: https://archive.is/S8AJh
Only a matter of time before the bubble bursts, if the quality of Sony's films are anything to go by. Also, when will crap game devs stop trying to be crap film directors? Hopefully it joins the pile of first/second party bombas.

Unfortunately even if a developer is alright with or even wants their work to remain in a niche without necessarily expanding to a wider audience, publishers can force it, either by taking them off development of future titles (most devs not owning the series they work on), shit can series due to lack of funds, dissolve teams, etc. Especially so if the publisher is in it not because they enjoy the nature of video games as a media themselves, but because of the potential for profit.

The opening scene where you're desperately trying to hide as much evidence of your crime as possible is a piece of art and what I'd call the true gaming cinematic experience.

david cage's games are pretty good, and not simply just compared to all the other trash out there. I know cage's games are kinda funky and interesting but they're made for a specific type of audience that likes that type of game. as for the whole SJW meme being pushed, I would say that this is one of the first few examples (in the good span of several years back from 2018) of this type of thing being done right (as a game) considering that people view machines as tools, but many people think they will always be tools even as they become more advanced and some others fear that the machines will advance and take over the world because these people acknowledge the eventual superiority of the machines. even some people go as far as to push the singularity meme and want to mix humanity with machines so we "advance" with them instead of getting left behind, but what people seem to forget is that machines may become people just like us, made out of metal instead of flesh. people need to realize that assuming that these new people aren't running windows 10 or apple, lets just say these are Free Open Source Software linux machine people with not extra bullshit, then we should respect them as fellow human beings. the game's footage that I've seen so far seems like it does a good job in showing us a future where people still treat machines like tools or slaves and the robot people have to get serious and fight for their rights or some shit. to me it's a sad story because I have felt like a slave my whole life, like a gear trapped in a larger machine that I want no part of. I've had to fight and I'm still fighting, and the story resonates with me. I'm the robot. I'm fighting to break free. I'm not looking for recognition or even respect or even maybe surival. I'm looking for enlightenment and transcendance, so this story really really makes me feel feels that feel feely. that being said, I'm not even the type of person that likes cage's type of game. I enjoy the story in his games more than I do the gameplay itself, but his type of game isn't my type of game but I still happy he's making it. the hate seems kind of unfounded because "oh my fuck he's making another sjw push" but it doesn't really strike me that way unless whoever came up with this idea has the mindset that any individuals who are victims in any kind of context must be "womyn" with pyrple hair or some other shit. I'm poor so I'm definitely looking forward to watching a playthrough of this on hooktube.com

Anon these news articles you have posted contain misinformation.
There are two reasons why a game would be denied an age rating, the first reason is that the game is accused of violation of the criminal law(usually §131 StGB or §86 StGB) by the Unterhaltungssoftware Selbstkontrolle(USK) and the second reason is that the game contains pornography and pornography is not allowed to be sold to people under 18 in Germany so giving an age rating to it is redundant.
Neither of these reasons actually ban the game from being advertised or sold at retail in Germany, it just makes it possible for them being made liable and sued in court should these accusations actually be found true.
For an actual ban of advertisement the game would have to be put on the index by Bundesprüfstelle für jugendgefährdende Medien or BPjM(Federal Department for Media Harmful to Young Persons), but this too wouldn't have the game banned from being sold at retail, it would just mean it can only sold in stores in which minors have no access to.
So the reason that these game are not publish in Germany is not that Germany didn't give them an age rating and banned them from being sold, but that NISA is a bunch of jews and thinks their games don't make enough profits if it cannot be sold to minors.

it aunt like fareheith were shit sudenly becoms matrix or beyond 2 souls where the ending is decided in in the final choise

>first fifth of Ethan's story, after his kid gets flattened but before the trials start

Omikron was pretty cool though. I find all of his games interesting conceptually, not great or even enjoyable as games but interesting as experiments.
Fahrenheit took an interesting mystery murder premise and somehow strung together a game of the longest simon says game I've ever played and occasionally some minor branching depending on player action. The writing seemed to have been made up as they made the game. It got completely incoherent towards the end.
Heavy Rain was an interesting experiment in how it in one sense was an interactive movie but this time without the simon says parts. It did these bizarro Molyneux tier things I've never seen in a game before. After your character tucks his son into bed (or don't) you have to move the thumbstick slowly to not slam the door. Press X to Jason, shake the controller to shake a juice bottle before you drink. It was insane yet intriguing.
I've yet to play Beyond but I imagine it's similarly deranged and that it has some things that you just don't see, often for good reason.

>I've yet to play Beyond but I imagine it's similarly deranged and that it has some things that you just don't see, often for good reason.
For starters, the whole game is not chronological. You constantly jump around a timeline seemingly at random, which makes the idiot plot even more incomprehensible. You're a troubled psychic child for one scene then you jump to being a hobo sucking dick for money the next, next you're a teenager going full Carrie and burning down a party because the kids thought bullying a girl they knew had superpowers was a good idea, then you're blowing up cops, and then you're infiltrating an underwater James Bond-esque Chinese secret base to investigate their ghost portal. There's also the gimmick of the main character having a ghost brother who does all her superpower shit, which would be interesting in an actual puzzle video game.
Omikron is a piece of shit though, it's the most retarded parts of Indigo Prophecy except it lasts the entire game and intensifies more and more in the second half.
