You do know the Wii U could do this right? Its a bit of a hassle to inject games (you have to do them one by one) but emulation is great on the Wii U since the gamepad acts like a bigger DS. So far I havent run into any issues. Then again the Wii U had many different forms of CFW, I'm pretty sure loadiine had spotty compatibility. I'm running coldboot Haxchi and so far I haven't had any trouble with the 40+ ds games I injected. Sometimes it takes a bit of trial and error for games that haven't been added to the compatibility list (as in, they haven't been tested yet/reported)

I also dont think they will have problems with staff hiring. The one thing that Nintendo seems to do right over other developers is QA and completeness. In all my years of playing Nintendo games, it is very difficult to think of one that seemed like a buggy mess that seemed massively unfinished. Their biggest problems are IP strangulation like not having a goddamn F-ZERO game in years, straying too far from the mold like Paper Mario has post Thousand Year Door, and catering to the casual before the hardcore they dont listen to the audience. Maybe now we will start getting better games because Kimishima will start catering more to the actual fans rather than their mothers and grandmothers.

I've been thinking about buying a Switch for a while now since I know it will have games I want (Nintendo handhelds rarely disappoint with their libraries) but don't want to pay for. I was aware that Switch CFW was well on it's way, and that 3.0 was optimal. Unfortunately I've put off buying one for so long the only reliable way to get a 3.0 or lower Switch (aside from manhandling an entire store's stock looking for a good product code) is buying the Splatoon 2 bundle. That having been said if anybody here has a low firmware Switch they don't want I'll gladly pay for it. Absolute worst case scenario I'll have to get a more recent firmware and either wait a bit longer than this summer or short some shit (which I'm worried I'll fuck up because I'm super retarded).

yeah, that was a hardware problem. Cell architecture was pretty different from everything. By 2010 or so most multiplats were at parity, differences were minimal at best unlike back in 06-08. The most popular engines even had everything integrated to easily export to PS3, 360, or PC. Kelly - this isn't a result of any homebrew developer - this is a result of Nvidia not testing the security on their chip properly. Nintendo were notified of this exploit by the homebrew scene in October 2017 - they have had plenty of time to make the revision. There is reference to a new Tegra chip in the 5.X firmware files - my best guess is Nintendo will have the hardware revised before E3 this year and something like pokemon switch gets announced which will be a massive sale spike. They will want all new units patched before then. You bet your ass Switch is going to be supported by everyone for many years to come. The sales for switch are unreal, and CFW isn't going to stop that. We know now that homebrew isn't just largely great news for the players (adding things like the ability to back up saves \ custom themes etc.) it also just makes no real impact at all negatively on sales figures. FAR less than 0.5% of any given systems total sales figures will EVER run ANY homebrew. We can see that as a fact on systems like 3DS \ Wii U \ Vita \PS3 \ PS4 etc. thanks to online analytics of the web exploits used.

3DS allowed us full game downloads from nintendos servers for free, this isn't THAT bad since we have to get the game legitimately and then extract it, but we're able to pirate any game that gets released for the switch, forever. We have the master key for the games, it can do exactly what a master key does, open all locks.

As for the tranny devs. Some of them are working on an exploit called ReSwitched, and they are nintendrone moralfags. They wouldn't even release the exploit before someone else, since they feared it would cause 'piracy'. The warez group responded by releasing keys for games while calling them tranny faggots.

Unless Nintendo shipped the new models out very recently, it's almost certain that all current models are hackable. That having been said, GBA Temp has a thread on which serial is which firmware, so if Mariko units do come out you will find out there. I suggest getting a low firmware one only because it is convenient at the moment, but really any will do. I'm considering getting a Splatoon 2 bundle, since it has 3.0 firmware which is pretty good. It is more expensive but I can sell off the Splatoon 2 download code to make up some of it, and simple piracy would more than make up the rest of the cost.

The exploit is already out and you can run it but there's fuck all you can do with it at the moment, CFW is supposedly due out this summer. Every single Switch that has been manufactured to date is vulnerable to this and because the exploit is in the bootrom of the CPU itself there is no way for Nintendo to patch/fix it with software updates. Based on what I'm reading it will be more difficult and you may have to wait a bit to get CFW on later firmwares but that likely won't be the case for very long.
