If you're willing to spend another gold bar you could just finish one revenant weapon in addition to the one you unlocked the character with since completing the six step last 'upgrade' makes the amount of fragments it gives you be 50 instead of the 5 you get after element change.

partially how hard it is to get a full chev sword grid, partially because there aren't as many good attackers as other elements, but mainly because it's the only element without a damage cap up weapon. If you want to break the 440k damage cap you have to own and use grand Io, while the other elements have a 530k damage cap from throwing a seraph weapon or the qilin bow in their grid.

It is a mix of factors:

There is an underlying truth in the "Light can't hit cap" meme:

1. As you surmised, Chev Swords drop rates are awful, but even with a built grid you still need crits in the form of a 5* eternal to be able to hit cap.

2. Zeus was a joke for years, until the release of Eden's 4*. A Eden grid is probably the only way to reliably hit cap without Song.

3. Characters aren't as impressive as in other elements. e.g. One of the main characters in light is Jeanne D'arc, her kit is basically Rage III, Mist and DTIII (with a self strenght buff).

Compare that with herself on Dark, which has an amazing self buff, a stronger Defense Break II and 5 turns of immortality, or Wind, that has 40% Defense down, 10% charge bar boost to her Rage III and a heal plus Armored and Stamina.

Mind you, Light Jeanne D'arc is a 5* character. There is no reason for her to be so underwhelming compared to her other versions.

Hosting matches just gets you so much more tokens than joining them. It also helps that typically people are happy enough to carry your ass through the fight itself. It's a godsend since I can barely handle the 40 AP guy by myself.

If you don't have full Omega grids, consider getting as many daggers as you can stomach before burning out (or all 24 of them you will need if your autism allows). The humble GW dagger is perhaps the single most versatile weapon in the entire game, as it gives 30% Double and Triple attack rate on ougi, and can be used in any element, besides having decent stats and a normal big ATK skill. Sorry I wasn't able to complete my thoughts because I was pissed after spending 30 minutes trying to slot fury stones into my tiamat bolts. the extra .8 per Skill level is so laughable that you don't see a noticeable boost until SL5 where it hits a nice 24 points or SL6 for a regular SR weapon. But at that point you might as well just make 3 SL2 SR weapons, so you don't dump a shitload of rare weapons into the stone and balance both rare and SR quantities in your fodder pool. Not to mention the extra .8 is less than the tier below it, with the fury pebble giving you a flat 2 fodder points which is nice and clean to use. They should just raise the points it gives to 6, that way an SL2 stone would be worth an Sr SL3, SL4 as an SL6 and so on. A lot more cleaner and efficient to use. Until then I'm just going to use these as regular SR fodder, the tiny boost isn't worth the headache.

Nothing really complicated about it. 5 fury stones = 6 SR weapons, use them in sets of 5 whenever you'd want to raise an SSR from skill level 3 to 6. With the rate SSR weapons drop from doing daily magnas, there's no real benefit in feeding SRs to other SR weapons to consolidate fodder: you don't need more than 12 SRs per upgrade to get an SSR to skill level 7, and past 7 you want to start using junk SSRs skilled up to SL 2 or 3.

You functionally lose points for raising SRs from skill level 2 to 3 if you want to use them for fodder.

SR Skill Level 1 - worth 4 points

SR Skill Level 2 - worth 8 points, costs 4 to get it to SL2 (break even)

SR Skill Level 3 - worth 12 points, costs 12 total to get it to SL3 (worth less than having four SRs at SL 1 worth of fodder needed to get it to that point, totaling 16 points)

SR Skill Level 4 - worth 16 points, costs 24 total to get it to SL4 (worth less than having seven SRs at SL 1 worth of fodder needed to get it to that point, totaling 28 points).

Grand Order heals for a total of 4k HP without team healing cap buffs, lucifer heals for 3k and gives an atk buff with ~40% normal mod, Alex isn't worth the stones. Lucy summon can work nicely as both a stat stick and an inconsistent heal, Grand Order not so much, I'd rather save the stones for a primal that is viable for non-whales or bahamut/shiva summons.
