Are you enjoying Yakuza 6 lads? I enjoyed it. Pretty self contained story except for very beginning and very end of it. It expects you to play 0 and kiwami more than it expects you to remember yakuza 2-4. With exception of 5's ending. I am amazed they got away with such politicized story though.

I'm still up to playing the PS2 original and 0. It's quite neat seeing the progress at play. Usually in vidya series there's something better with the original but here's everything is just much improved. Seeing the difference in Majimas was pretty jarring though.

Overall I can certainly see why so many see this series as underrated. Not for everyone but certainly good.

It's still so much of a shock for me just how different the game is from every predecessor, the combat just feels so different. Also, why the fuck do I keep beating on the same guys as a boss fight? Is everyone in this game Kuze???
8ed203 No.14674900
I'm really enjoying Yakuza 6. So far the OST's fantastic (Bloodstained Philosophy in particular is such an insanely good track), the bosses are great and the substories have been really funny. The lack of closure with the characters from the previous games apart from Kiryu and Haruka is a bit disappointing but the new characters are all so enjoyable in different ways that it makes up for it I think. I wouldn't say that the combat is better than the system they had going in Kiwami and 0 but I do enjoy it all the same, it feels a bit odd at first but once you upgrade combo speed it's fine.

Honestly yes, the bad part of Yakuza 6 is how easy all the bosses are. Only crowds present any challenge, but even they can be easily controlled.
As long as you heat action right, its piss easy, and heat bar fills up incredibly quickly. But the worst if furniture presented on stage, they have some of the most broken damage in the game.

8-9h in, still on Ch2 (just got Troublr), because I cannot stop horsing around, getting into fights and trying to find every nook and cranny in Kamurocho (there's a unpleasantly large amount of dead ends). One particular adventure that started in Tenkaichi Street that led me to investigate all four floors of the building, then go jump through rooftops, find stairs and squeeze through the tight spaces between buildings had me thinking I was about to get one hell of a reward yet all I got was finding out my camera's possessed.
Also a lot of Live Chat, a lot of VF5 and some hostess action.
Incidentally, how exactly does the hostess mini-game work now? I'm still iffy on the details but I like the flow of it a lot more.

I've found that just running around like a headless chicken and doing dropkicks or the running kick over and over works wonders against crowds. Takes some time getting used to doing that rather than fighting crowds as you normally would in the previous games. Also, the furniture/objects are the worst, I can't tell you how many fucking times did I get ragdolled the fuck out by some dick kicking a motorcycle towards me from off-screen. Luckily, it does shit for damage to you. By the way, why the fuck does Masuzoe have this goofy as fuck karate stance? I know Goju-ryu black belts I've sparred with who'd say that his stance is too wide.

I'm not a trophyfag, but I checked and yes, I'm just 15 hours into the game and I already have more than 50% of the trophies complete. Though I've heard that you'll have to grind a lot for the 100% skills trophies, but you should get enough if you work for that 100 wins in Clan Creator because that's way more wins than you get just by doing the sidestory itself and additionally the Clan Creator missions give you loads of XP.

I fought that guy for the first time (in the ring) last night. He was by far one of the easiest bosses in the series.
I couldn't help but laugh, because he was really playing himself up. Big bad Jingweon man. Absolutely fucking trashed. Hell, Sodachi on the street is tougher than him.
I'm loving the game though. It's a huge difference in terms of combat, but I can see that they were going for more crowded fights and such (and it feels good wiping a bunch of enemies with a single sweeping kick). And once you get combo speed upgrades and things like regaining your stance quickly after being blocked, it starts to feel really good. I also managed to get Tiger Drop and its upgrade. I'm glad that's back in.
I still have no idea what I'm doing in the Baseball minigame. I don't have an inkling of how to play baseball, and doing this management minigame is like being thrown into deep water to learn how to swim.
I don't have any kind of love for the Clan Creator, though. Mostly indifferent to it. I'm kinda glad I got powerful cards through codes so I can just smash through it. Otherwise I feel like I might dislike it.

>I still have no idea what I'm doing in the Baseball minigame. I don't have an inkling of how to play baseball
Its not about playing baseball exactly, its even more complicated.
The baseball minigame in Yakuza 6 is a parody on konami's pro yakyuu series, including both spirits and power pro. The reason i am saying this is simple, a gameplay mechanic of "waiting for critical turn and then give a control to the player", only konami included that gameplay mode in their games, i used to play a lot of spirits 2015 in it (it was one of the gameplay configurations), it was one of the main game modes in power pros 2016, the festival thingy, and its also the only game mode that isnt a visual novel training in free online version of powerpros.
So to explain this a little bit further, baseball minigame consists of stats of your player that play out in the back, your control input during "critical" moments (those are decided by AI, which moments are critical for you winning), you switching players during play if you must to, and luck. Whole lot of luck if your stats match with your opponents.
There are total of 16 matches, all of which require you to get certain amount of players hired, who you can find in open world part of the game. There also train tickets, that you win after completing a match to improve certain player's stats. The problem is that you must both perform well, and hire a lot to increase your chances to not luck out of hits. This game is even worse than konami shit because it rarely allows you to play last inning by yourself, resulting therefore by sudden miss. And most important part - not having the ability to pitch the ball by yourself. The result of having no manual pitching ability boils the whole game to stats, since even if you are in control of YOUR runs, during YOUR teams pitching you will have to watch in shitty basic management screen instead of affecting the game, and enemy can easily score when you the least expect it.
Basically its part gambling, part majima hostess styled hiring, part batting center. Its not a full game of baseball. And if it was it would probably be much easier than it is. And i wish management was more fun than "pay a million to hire this guy" or "bring this guy sushi".

Well, Yakuza 6 is the end of Kiryu's story, and has some neat moments to it. It isn't a bad game. But if japan hated it, its mostly because gameplay all around it was cut down significantly, "hate" is a big word when you as fan of a big series get disappointed in new release not being in some certain way better than previous one. Kiwami 2 is even worse in those cuts as a remake. In many ways Y6 is the next gen experimented version, Yakuza 3 of this day and age.
Honestly you should play it eventually for the story alone some day.

I'm not familiar with what the Japanese thought of 6 but so far I haven't found myself agreeing with much of the criticism I read prior to its release. I'm reminded of when I almost didn't buy Kiwami because of all the complaints I had read about it and then when I eventually did I ended up really liking it. I feel like 0 set the bar too high and as a result some Yakuza fans have a tendency to exaggerate the shortcomings of the games that have come out after it.
I think I'm about halfway through 6's story at the minute and my biggest complaints so far are occasional framerate dips (which Kiwami also suffered from) and the lack of an arena. Apart from that I don't really have any issues with it. I've heard that there are a couple of retarded plot twists later on but honestly I'll be shocked if there's anything on the level of secret twin brother who works for the CIA or rubber bullets.

I really like Onomichi too, it's the comfiest locale in the Yakuza games so far in my opinion. The only problem is that there's no convenience stores. They REALLY didn't think this through. You find Saigo (the bald military guy who was Akiyama's trainer in 4 and 5 if you can't remember him by name) in Onomichi and he tells you that you should give him a bento box… but the problem is that you can't fucking buy it in Onomichi. So I had to write down that I should buy the exact bento box he wants, then bought it when I got back to Kamurocho in Chapter 7 or 8 and now I'm waiting for Kiryu to get back to Onomichi so I can give him the dumb box. From what I've read he's similar to Sodachi back in Kamurocho in that you have to beat his ass in 2 trouble missions and then he shows up at a location so you can give him the final ass kicking to close out the substory.

Well, Kiwami 2 probably makes combat for the better, there are like 5 amon fights, a hostess club management minigame from 0, Virtual On and they returned weapons. But i don't see why would you buy Kiwami 2 if you already played Yakuza 2 original though, this what's really devalues it though, because remake and original are very distinct, but story is in general is the same. Including the fact Y2 didn't really needed a remake.
The main thing is that the game as a whole seems to be more challenging than yakuza 6.

I beat Yakuza 6 in 15 hours. Maybe I rushed it but it really felt short. It's a shame they dumbed down the combat so much, but I understand it's a new engine and shit. Maybe I should have played on hard since every boss fight was ridiculously easy to me. I enjoyed the story though. The little Hiroshima Yakuza family grew on me. Don't really care for the new minigames like clan fights or baseball. Troublr missions are usually nothing special. The camwhore minigame is pretty pointless too, although the randoms in chat can be somewhat funny. At least I can still invite a hostess to karaoke though, I guess. I don't really see myself playing much of Premium Adventure like I did with Kiwami. Maybe I should give more sub-stories a chance, but shit like finding cats isn't exactly peaking my interest.

A lot of characters just seem like an exact replacement of another character in the earlier games. I mean just look at Nagumo. A cocky prick who is a captain of some low tier might-as-well-be-street-punks yakuza family in a small town who ends up really respecting Kiryu and whose boss is this really laid-back guy? Really reminds me of certain characters from Okinawa…

Started out really good but then I took a break because the prospect of Haruka's party was scaring me (once I got to it I was relieved to know her rhythm are easier than karaoke), then gets good again because Shinada's a fun character (though arguably the worst in the series in terms of gameplay) but by Haruka's part until the end, the story completely falls apart and gets so absurdly convoluted, it's honestly difficult to keep interest. Also, the final boss is a total non-entity but then again, Kiryu hasn't had a real fight since Goda.

Anyway, already got treated to the ol' Yakuza tradition of "that guy who was a total asshole might actually be a good person" and met the boss. Very fun scene though I'm expecting this guy to not be as laid back as he looks. Right after that scene, I caught a whiff of freedom and went back to horsing around. The game gives you a lot of freedom at the start but once you have the baby, it feels like you're getting on the leash again. Also, that part where you're going to get milk for him is rather frustrating because either I have very bad luck or that thing is rigged for you to be unable to calm him down from the 3rd or 4th time he starts crying.
Caught some substories, Ono Michi was pretty funny but the others I got were either very odd or kinda sappy and sometimes both.

Yakuza 5 really activates the almonds when it comes to sniffing out twists to the point it gets ridiculous, honestly. By Shinada's part, your wild guesses will end up being entirely correct most of the time.
And that side, he's a old guard guy in a organization that kicked out the Omi. Even if the new bloods in his family are clueless jackasses, he has to have been through some shit in his day. Unless he's a slime ball like the running the Tojo atm, of course.

Finished the game. I love it but it's definitely one of the more flawed Yakuza games.
They could've done an engine test game so they could put out a better product, but instead they felt like they decided to rush out this one as a big bang on their new engine. It feels short, the plot needed some more fleshing out (some of the twists could've been revealed over a larger timeline rather than just quickly one after the next). I don't mind the contrivances because Yakuza has always had contrived stuff for its plot.
I like the new EXP system (and the stomach meter) but I don't like how it's handled. I've never had to grind in a Yakuza game before to acquire skills; but in this one I had to grind/eat tons of Technique and Charm-EXP-giving food just to get most of the skills. And there wasn't even a lot of skills, it felt like. Understandably a small amount of heat actions as well.
After playing the Kiwami 2 demo, I found that the combat in that felt tighter and more evolved. Like you could charge light attacks as well as heavy. Charging light attacks in that gave you the Beast-style light attacks from 0 and Kiwami. So it seems to me that they're going to keep improving it.
One thing I'm incredibly sad about in the future is that we're probably going to never have Akiyama playable in the new engine, since they're shifting focus to an entirely ugly new dude who so far has 0 charm. I'm looking forward to see if my opinion on him will change, though. And how the combat will be in future games.

Theres no point in doing anything to bosses other than cheesing out another heat attack. It’s fucking lame. You start out with a simple as shit movelist but unlock more shit as you go on and gain more attacks. Kiryu gets extremely powerful counters and the bosses are wrecking you because they're there to teach you that spamming the same shit isn't going to work, you need to dodge, combos should be ditched in those cases for quick hits.
If you get hit you lose Heat, if you hit you gain Heat, if you stall too long you lose heat.
If you don't explore and check around town you'll get beat the fuck up later because a lot of your EXP comes from completing sidestories, not fighting enemies. Also you'll get weapons, in Yakuza 1 you should use them. Later Yakuza games after 4 started to ditch weapons but early on they're a lifeline and should be used. In fact farming a certain weapon from the Coliseum is extremely helpful against Amon, who you'll fight last.

Kiryu's connection to the Yakuza became looser and looser as the games went on and most games were basically "Someone fucks with his daughter, Kiryu looks for answers and fucks shit up." I think they ran out of ideas for the guy.

Ah, but you can also
DODGE
and
BLOCK
And you do have other triangle attacks after squares that do good damage and come out quicker.
Also Yakuza 2 is much better and you don't get fucked if you do Komaki's training as soon as you get to him, he hands you the counters and game openers that'll carry you through the game, you don't just have spam moves. One thing that unlocks that's eternally useful is the omni-direction combo that allows you to punch in another cardinal direction to catch dodgers and do crowd control and let me tell you you'll fucking need that shit.
You'll unlock the underground arena in the process and it's full of boss fights if I remember. you'll get used to fighting there, you have to go there anyway to complete Komaki's training.
You should break up the binge with other games or something else, don't force yourself through Yakuza, it should be enjoyed.

It's your own choice honestly. You can play through 0 as your first game, but there's a lot of references to the previous games. Still, I recommend you play in release order so you can experience how the series evolved, in some ways for the better in some ways for the worse. Also, like >>14689878 said it's pointless to play the original, but not because it's shit. All the story elements are intact except for the whole Majima Everywhere crap which completely ruins his character and the sequencing involving Majima, but otherwise it's the same, with also the addition of flashbacks detailing Nishiki's fall, this is something that wasn't present in the original. Also all the classic substories are also there (the stand-out ones were voiced in Kiwami) and of the other ones none of them were removed to my knowledge, Kiwami just added new substories. I can only recommend it if you like the hostess minigame since you actually have 6 hostesses and they're much better than the boring, insufferable cunts that Kiwami graced us with. Also, the music is better.

At first I didn't like how some dialogue scenes look very stiff but some of the later ones are much more complex and I'm honestly impressed at how seamless they blend with the actual cutscenes, the only thing that give them away is the X button prompt in the corner.

You mean your introductory baseball game? Yes, that one is rigged for you to lose, I was ahead 10-9, but then they got 2 miracle points in the last inning. Otherwise the substory wouldn't really have a point since you're building up a loser team into a less-loser one.

Thanks. Doing Ch5 atm and cashed these in. Have no clue how things are gonna go after that introductory fight but I put Saejima, Majima and Amon on my line-up. They're all C so I don't think it's too much of an advantage. Wasn't as bad as baseball but I can't say I liked it. Same feeling of overall confusion. Was disappointed that we can't give the clan a custom name; Welfare Pimps will remain a yume.
This chapter opens up a lot of stuff - clan creator, the bar (which in turn leads to the next Ono Michi quest) and the deep sea fishing rail shooter which I was pleased to find enjoyable since the theme stuck with me when I first heard the OST. Ch5 also seems to introduce a difficulty spike, enemies are overall more aggressive and yakuza mobs are now packing heat.
Also had my very first death and a remarkably embarrassing one at that - was at a pier as a mob comes running at me and one of them knocks me into the water.

I've also died on purpose to two specific bosses a few times so that I could listen to their soundtracks a bit more before moving on, one of whom you'll meet at the end of chapter 5. Absolutely top tier music.
Even if a lot of the bosses are generally a bit on the easier side this time around I still think they're good regardless. The music, animations and atmosphere of each fight so far have all been really well done and the variety between them in terms of movesets is also pretty good.

Finished the game, and wasn't all too satisfied with the final bosses especially with the fact four eyes is just going to prison, and Sugai took the easy way out by killing himself. I liked the ending a fair amount. Iwami isn't supposed to be some super strong buffed up dude like Aizawa or Goda. He DOES play himself up as one of those, but Kiryu just basically shows him how weak he actually is once Kiryu knows Haruka and Haruto are safe, by blocking one of his punches and then calling him a little baby before showing him how outclassed he actually is. I don't think they were going for a super buffed up final boss for the game, but more like a beatdown of revenge.
As for Kiryu's ending, I think it's better that he became an unperson and disappear. This way he can return in other games as a person behind the scenes or as an NPC or bonus boss. Plotwise he's basically scrubbed his connections to the yakuza, preventing him from being drawn back into plots involving them which is something he's always hated but gets involved in anyway. And being an unperson keeps him and Haruka from being harassed by the government given the shit he uncovered.. Dude's rich too, he can go somewhere and retire in peace.

Fair point, but that's disappointing given the fact that the final bosses from the past games were exciting. Heck, even the kpop fag's battles, Hirose's fight, and Sodachis' extra fights were more worthwhile than that pissant. Hopefully the new game with the new protag, Ichiban, improves on this.

>Kiryu's too clean for a really gritty story
That's part of his charm, though. His incorruptibility and slight naivete makes him a sort of a robin-hood type character, who at the very least makes it easier to empathize with… but mostly just allows for some semi-believable light-humor in side-stories which are one of the big draws to the series. It lets you go completely off the rails for entertainment purposes without completely breaking his character, because he's genuinely the kind of nice guy who wants to help out others and lives a principled life according to a moral code.
Also, not a big fan of the idea of making the new guy basically just a pallet swap of Kiryu with a crazy face and mussed up hair. Yeah yeah, yang to Kiryu's yin - it's all very zen and asian and shit. I still think it's fucking stupid and boring, and if they fuck this up, they'll have to deal with it for several sequels afterwards or tank the franchise. Hell, they even had to tone down Majima substantially when he shared the spotlight with Kiryu in 0 - which, made his whole character in later games weaker since the "mad dog" just seemed like a conscious act put and forcibly perpetuated on by an otherwise pretty reasonable and likable guy.
If they could pull off a Mifune/Kikuchiyo - type character, that'd be amazing, but I'm not expecting miracles.

The problem is that all of the main characters are too perfect and never do anything extremely bad. That's why I'd like a prequel with Kazama. He was the yakuza Jesus before Kiryu (and Kiryu surpassed him in that), but he has a lot of skeletons in the closet. I'd like for Kashiwagi to be playable in that game too because in every other game he's in he's got the personality of cold wet noodles and don't tell me that there's someone who doesn't wanna know how he got that massive scar.

Yomei alliance having a political secret that if disclosed puts in danger certain politicians and the yakuza syndicate itself. Which forced Yomei alliance remove people constantly.
Certain politician is involved with unfavorable ending for Kiryu as a result of disclosing that secret, but his identity is not shown.

>one of whom you'll meet at the end of chapter 5
Just did that part. Got a bit of a scare when the game froze after one mob fight, the save state went all the way before the sequence starts so I took the opportunity to make a second save slot just in case.
Before that, I decided to spend some time with Clan Creator. Looks like those C ranks I enlisted are actually really good, cleared every Onomichi mission without problems, for the most part I only got killed by Amon whose super can damage allies. I don't follow wrestling so I don't anything about these guys I'm facing, I'm assuming they're all heels or something judging by how they act and figured those unique gestures they spam must be something they're famous for. They brought my first complaint about the localization - Naito uses some spanish words but they added a whole lot more to his translated speech, can't say I agree. To those unaware, CC gives some good cash, a ton of Charm points and opens up some things like a black market dealer introduced by the La Pente bartender who, in turn, sells a very potent fishing spear that makes the rail shooter a joke. And on that note, the deep sea fishing mini-game left me wanting more, it's short and doesn't have much variety to it and I'm disappointed that every boss attacks the same way by flinging mobs at you, they should have taken a hint from House of the Dead and have the boss attack in other ways and you have to shoot a specific part enough times to stop the attack.
Did that conversation mini-game in the bar; it's kinda tough, you have to really pay attention to the conversation. Rule of thumb - never try being funny. Also meant to chime before on darts and karaoke, they're both in a odd place, like they're simultaneously easier and harder. Karaoke's a lot easier to hit the notes but the scoring is brutal while darts is harder to make the shot but easier to consistently hit the target you're aiming at. Along with hostesses, I think these classic mini-games got better overall.
I said before, I wanted to bang Kiyomi to cuck Nagumo but seems there's no need for that. I'm not sure if it's the last scene of Ch5 or the first of Ch6 but you see the exact point is soul is torn in two. Poor guy. I don't even know if that's a thing - clairvoyant cucking?

It's not being funny per se. The responses I think you're thinking of are humorous, but off-hand remarks which don't advance the conversation in any way. That's why they're bad responses.

Best thing was when Someya also confirms that they have a daughter.
That's also why I kept my mouth shut when you mentioned wanting Kiryu to cuck Nagumo, but dropped a hint that Hirose is more than meets the eye. Generally you're not a good story writer if you require prior knowledge to be known for the first story in a series.
Most people would understand that there's a restoration going on when people comment on what they're building after a war or having something like "We're still rebuilding after the last war" or something. Japan isn't mysterious or anything, everywhere you go the same shit happens and people understand the consequences and results of war.
Besides, the Meiji Restoration would still only be background to the actual story, which would be "Samurai Kiryu goes and fucks stuff up because people dug up his past and want to kill him for it" which is pretty much the same as any Yakuza game. Yakuza isn't known for a complex plot with dozens of intricacies, All of it's stories are pretty straightforward because there's very little RPG type story breakup between cutscenes and NPCs.
In a normal RPG for example you might come across an NPC or two that outlines a villain's motivations or backstory in an optional place, but in Yakuza the stories in optional places are either irrelevant to the story or outline motives and characters from past games. So in a self contained story like Ishin and Kenzan, which deal with different characters (Sakamoto Ryoma from the Tokugawa Shogonate era, and Miyamoto Musashi from way before that) It really doesn't make sense why he'd say that.
Especially since fan translations show no narritive difference or extra quality different from prior Yakuza games outside of a darker story.

Thanks for the heads up guys, now combat feels loads better than at the start. That said I'm a bit worried, I'm only 3 hours in and I already somehow unlocked 15% of the trophies compared to how long it took to even get 33% in Yakuza 5, also finding side quests, or even those fucking cats, seems difficult. Granted I'm still on chapter 1 right now.

From what I gathered so far after clearing a bit of the story, like maybe an hour tops, you can go to one of the SEGA arcades, it should have Puyo Puyo Pop and Virtua Fighter 5 ready to play and you can select it from the main menu after that I think. That said even if you're playing Yakuza 6 as a game regardless of plot, you'll have fun with it.

That's because this game is the easiest to platinum. The only difficult parts are the 2 CC trophies where you have to get someone to lvl 99 and where you have to get 100 wins. And those aren't really difficult, just tedious. The Legend trophy is easily won through an exploit Make a save before the point of no return, beat the game, unlock Legend difficulty, reload that save, beat the game again and you get that trophy

I'll try Tiger Dropping him to death which I still think is cheesing. Sadly it seems to be impossible to have a "honest" fight with Amon, he'll back way the moment you land a punch, TD you if you whiff a heavy attack or melt half your HP in two hits of his etc.
A few more random observations:
- On the note of TDs and tough opponents, I noticed from my fights with Sodachi that TDs don't do all that much damage and hitting him a bike (regular attack, not Heat) will do a lot more damage. Looks like both TD was nerfed and object attacks got buffed.
- If you pick a food or drink card in the hostess mini-game, do NOT cancel the order. You'll waste your talk turn. Also, drinks add nothing to a conversation chain.
- Date is probably one of the best characters in the CC mini-game because of his 10 second invincibility buff not only for its obvious use but because you can pair it with Amon's super to negate the damage to allies. The Kamurocho side of the CC story is very short which was kinda surprising.
- Played mahjong…kinda as it was the only thing missing for the mini-games trophy. No idea what I was doing doesn't begin to describe it. Anyway, point being that with most of the fluff mini-games removed and 100% completion no longer being a trophy, this might be the easiest game in the series to platinum though it will take a very unpleasant grind for stats and CC.
- There's a safe at the top of the New Serena building, you can't find a key for it because it opens with a password. For the western release that password was in the online comics - KP56VFA9MX2B7LH - to claim a million yen and a rainbow bun which gives you a shitload of points for all stats (which I immediately burned because everything requires Technique but barely anything awards it).

Kinda in the same boat though I always do the same thing at the start: 3 gun guys+Date / Onomichi+3 grunts / 3 big guys+Saejima and then it depends if I'll call Amon or Majima but it's usually Majima+knife guys. Then call mooks just for the heck of it, never felt cornered and most of my casualties are from goddamned Amon and his rocket launcher but now I use Date to circumvent that.

nope, i beat the story of it before learning about the codes and the guys you can find through playing the story/recruited through substories were plenty enough. the most annoying thing was that when you got the wrestlers they'd join you at level 1 and you'd have to burn some of your own XP to get the up to snuff.

Date has a decently prominent role in 6 and it treats him fine, yeah. There's one moment early in the game (specifically the dynamic intro for the third boss) where Kiryu's behaviour strikes me as a bit odd, but it makes more sense when you consider that he's getting old and tired of stuff getting in his way as the other anon said.
For what it's worth I've read a handful of comments on a bunch of gameplay videos where people have said that the characters' behaviour isn't as weird as they first thought now that it's been translated and they can properly understand the context. In particular there's a moment involving Yuta late in the story which was probably really confusing for people who played the Japanese version and couldn't understand what he or Kiryu were talking about.

Found an easy way to farm Technique points, since you can only get those from minigames and the returns you get are quite low for how long you have to play some of them. You need to be in Kamurocho. Go to RIZAP and buy the thing that drops your stomach meter a lot, I think it's called Burn+, RIZAP shit is expensive, but you can do a few CC missions because they give you a fuckload of money. Now, go to either of the sushi joints in town, the classic Sushi Gin that was there since the beginning of the series is in Showa st. as always, Sushi Zanmai is in Taihei, the street in front of Millennium Tower, on the easternmost side. The sushi joints all have food which raises technique by quite a bit and after you're done eating you can just pop the Burn+ to empty your stomach meter and eat more. I recommend you also buy the upgrades which give you more XP from eating.
I think the oyster joint in Onomichi also gives a lot of technique, but I'm not 100% sure, but it's preferable you're in Kamurocho since you can't buy the RIZAP supplements in Onomichi.

To be fair, that's been a thing throughout the series. Also, if you have trouble with Sera in that ultimate battle, I've done it by baiting out his sidestep sweep with a single punch and then dodging. You have to be a REAL good judge of the distance if you don't wanna get hit. The objective with my method is to make sure you're just out of range of the sweep and not get hit by it. Whenever he does his full attack string is also the time you should counterattack. Another method which is very time-consuming is to get to low health, go slugger and then just run away like a pussy until your heat fills up, then do a heat action on him and repeat. That's what a friend of mine did, but it took him about 20 minutes to beat Sera using that method.

Couple of days ago spent my entire session in Y6's Ch7 just doing hostess, work out, clan creator etc stuff. The problem is that now their stories feel very underdeveloped. I think Majima will get out of prison and you'll play as him again.

I can't get a substory to trigger. It says at night on Shichifuku street near Theater Avenue.
I went there and ran around several times at night but nothing happened. It's like the only one I'm missing next to the Amon fight.

Holy shit! I beat that last CC mission with 2 seconds on the clock. Talk about luck!
I noticed that the organization has two slots that give a bonus EXP gain - Chief of HQ and Chief Advisor. Using those to speed up the max level leader as well as having Akiyama catch up with everyone else from Lv1 to Lv50.

Maybe you need a NPC with you to trigger it? Is it called "Swipe Right" or something to that effect? I remember getting one around that area where the phone rang with a Troublr message. It happened as I was doing the Troublr mission to save someone from falling off the batting cages roof.

Managed to get it in Chapter fucking 11 when Yuta runs off to go kill Lo and burn down Little Asia
Weird as hell. All the guides say it's available from Chapter 6 at night in Kamurocho.

Alright done with Zero, onto Kiwami.
Is it me or does Kiwami seem like more of a sequel to Y0 than a direct remake of Yakuza 1?

I got it in chapter 6, I think the problem is that it's extremely anal about the location you're supposed to be in and since you just get a message on your phone there isn't anyone who just stands around. I walked around the area for 10 minutes until I finally got the text on the sidewalk in front of the buildings that are just south of the batting center.

Kiwami uses a lot of things from 0 for convenience reasons. It was also the foundation of the remake, it's a mix of good and bad things.

Yakuza 6 is 30 FPS, but VF5FS in the game is 60 like it should be.

They'd be crazy to not make it the Goda game.
Just finished Ch8. Shit's starting to get crazy.
I've been going at it at a snail's pace and can't help but wonder if I'm not gonna end up with a shitload of points and a lot of this grind was a waste of time. I'm missing 1 battle skill, 1 heat skill and about 11 others while stats are mostly at 220, besides HP that's maxed and evasion that's around 270.
eb7fb7 No.14733679

Don't pump your stats too much unless you're playing on Legendary.

But I want the trophy, I think I might even platinum this one, get everything but the Legend trophy in one run. I'm refraining from upgrading attack until I'm at the very end.
Also, lol
eb7fb7 No.14736625
>>14734658
AFAIK you can get the legend trophy in one run, by loading a save before the final fights and switching it to legendary. Don't know if it's patched though.
So I suppose if you want all the trophies in one run, it's a good idea to grind stats.
I personally had fun playing it again though, because I ignored a lot of stuff the first time around, and it was fun experimenting with the combat from the very start with everything unlocked.
