I still consider Minecraft the best farming simulator

I know this is a farming game thread, but I want to ask about the waifu/relationship elements of those types of games.

Farming game or not, are there any games that expand greatly on the courting/dating/marrying a particular chosen waifu? I want a game where there are different waifus to choose from, you can buy them presents and go on events to build a relationship, and even after you've been married and have a kid you can still do more events and shit. Maybe even grow old together through the playthrough.

It seems like all these farming games have waifu mechanics, but they're extremely shallow.

-Choose a waifu

-Find out what she likes best

-Give her a billion of those items

-Marry her and done

I think the closest I've seen is Stardew, and that's saying something considering it's nowhere near what I'm envisioning.

The Guild series has a farmer job.

It's actually one of the best choices there is since you don't need resources and it's therefore nigh-on impossible to go bankrupt. It's pretty comfy, especially if you start a tavern with the food you grow (ideally after flooding the market with raw food, ruining and buying up the other farms so now you control the entirety of the food market making it possible to be the only actually functioning tavern or baker in town)

Note: Don't get Guild 3, it's Early Access shit, Guild 2 Renaissance is what you want to look at

when I was searching for OP pic, I had found a "farming manager" game from 2013, from the guys of Euro Truck Sim

buried in the depths of the interweb, literally no one ever heard about it, however it feels exactly the same but better as current Farm Manager mentioned

ECO has a much more in depth eco system and nutrition is key factor to developing spill points

farming however is only one of several in depth specializations in that game

You can become a money lender, buy all the doctor's shops in town, poison the town well and then only release a few treatments at exorbitant prices (and then beat your loan money out of the people that bought them because now they say they can't repay you)

I had found a couple of reasonable recent torrents, they're only a few hundred megs

but I couldn't get it to work, its shipped with a server and reportedly works on virtual lan

however I couldn't figure it out, as if it wasn't niche enough its very unknown game

I can run the server locally, but I've been trying to make it work on linux dedi so that I don't have to keep a computer running to host. There are config files where you can disable auth on login, although I'm not sure if it'll work with everyone trying to play as "IGGGAMES"

its a bit trashy, everything I need mono for in linux is really crash happy, very unstable

and afterall it may depend on whether this is the sort of game you leave the server running all around, since it has a time limit

so an interesting development,

today I was searching for said games and I've noticed several of them went missing

turns out they seem to have fallen in DMCA disputes and steam is forced to remove them until settled

the game above farmers dynasty seem to be taken down due to claim from PlayWay (car mechanic and several other cancerous games) due to a similar game from last year (and not at all similar to justify a claim)

now what is funny though, is that PlayWay is the publisher of the game Farm Manager 2018 mentioned earlier on the thread, which was also taken down by steam due other DMCA claims

mostly likely the second case was due to the game Farming Manager, from the same devs as Euro Truck (self published) that was released back in 2013, though this one indeed seems to be a bare and worse copy of the claimed game

to give you an idea, this latter game was so unknown, it wasn't even released on Steam, no pirate releases on sight either, and looks like the best of the bunch

Though you may be strapped for options, just look for something on a console instead, unless you just mean for MC in general (it's become a lot easier than manually editing the .jar file and overwriting classes if that's the case)

Though definitely overrated (I honestly have zero idea how it became as popular as it did) FS20XX must be doing something right if they've become a multiple-time bestseller for several years running.

I got it running locally, with 0.7.3.3, then port forwarded it, but apparently that doesn't work. What ended up working was Tunngle, when we got into the same network with a friend, they could connect, so MP is possible. I'll see about setting up a semi-dedicated server for it tomorrow, sadly Tunngle will most likely be a requirement.

Tunngle is one of the few virtual LAN clients that mostly work. It's chock full of cancerous popup ads, but all other clients are either just as bad, worse, or don't work at all.

You add an exception to the windows network rules for inbound traffic on the specific ports, then on your router do the same and direct the ports to the internal IP of your PC. There is a guide on the Eco wiki for it. But it doesn't seem to work, I have my ports forwarded and others still couldn't see the server just from the IP.

I know about that list of Hamachi alternatives, I've tried most of them, Tunngle is just the least bad one. Freelan in particular is not easy to use, at all. No GUI so you have to muck about with config files, need someone to run host too.

Guild 2 Rennaissance, definitely.

It's the most complete and bug-free version, as long as you get either McCoys Legacymod or Fajeth's MegaMod, I use the latter.

2 literally was abandoned and picked up by different devs which later fixed it with a new dlc

1 one was apparently buggy and unfinished by concept
