If you're playing co-op E.Y.E: Divine Cybermancy and someone shoots and NPC how do you restart a chapter? There's no restart button in the mission tab in the menu and reloading the level through the console doesn't change anything.

Has anyone ever managed to make Future Pinball behave correctly on WINE? By following the autistic instructions on WINEDb, I can get the tables to load but there are Linux specific issues that don't happen on Winblows. When the ball is in the plunger or inside a scoop, the "ball hitting the bottom" sound plays repeatedly instead of just once destroying my ears. The T-Rex on Jurassic Park brushes the ball off the saucer instead of "eating" it and depositing it in the habitrail, which wouldn't be an issue if the game didn't launch a second ball and register a lost ball if either drains. In ST:TNG, the ball disappears through the playfield as soon as it leaves the plunger habitrail. In Medieval Madness, the ball spots ramps and loops twice or even thrice per shot making it a cakewalk. Addams Family outright refuses to work with an script error. Custom tables seem to work fine, but many recreations still aren't in The Pinball Arcade which is a buggy slow ass 'nother can of worms.

If you're talking about Dutch being shot in Mars, I'm so sorry. It's plot mandated and you can't do anything to avoid it. I know, I autistically tried for hours killing every enemy in Dutch's draw area (including the fed choppers) and making sure none respawned as he steps on the fated event flag. He will always blow up even with nobody ever having a clear shot of him as if he stepped on a landmine. He was too good for this universe.

1 is a somewhat hard 2d platformer with difficulty balancing issues and some bullshit regarding the mandatory collectible but otherwise it's pretty good, avoid the Jaguar version it lacks sliding physics so it has a few levels that are longer because you can't go fast and a few completely different ones that are just not as good.

2 is an easyish 3d platformer / adventure with a few bad gimmick levels that spike the difficulty a lot, avoid the N64, PS1 and DS versions, DC is preferable..

Revolution is 2 with a Hub world and a few more levels and they sorta tried making the gimmick less bad but it's still pretty bad, also likes to randomly RSOD your PS2 / crash emulators.

3 has more focus on combat and is more streamlined, it's also the start of more heavy handed attempts at humor.

Origins is back to 2D but more focused on going fast, has a decent flow to it if you're a speed autist, fairly hard overall.

Legends is origins but casualized and riddled with mobileshit-like mechanics, loads of gimmicks and the music levels are neat

A Dodonpachi DFK 1.5 1-ALL (either on Novice or Normal) is probably the easiest with hypers acting like free bombs and overall pattern difficulty not being too high, though you'll probably be complaining about laser rings. Butter up your anus for the second loop, though.

Mushihimesama on ULTRA is probably the hardest of the currently available Cave titles on Steam, though it also features a perfectly doable Novice and Normal mode.

I'm using moonlight to stream vidya gaems to my android phone for comfy playing in bed but the latency is too much for most games. How can this be optimized? I think I read that with steam in-home streaming there's nearly no input lag but it's not compatible with android devices/smartphones

1 is bad if you're not into musou style stuff, okay if you are, there's an undub but no retranslation and it emulates pretty well also (PS you want that turbo mode).

2 is generic Squareshit goes into slightly weird territory but never really goes as far as the first one, the gameplay is a tiny bit better, almost enjoyable if you're into musou, the undub might be bugged since spoken lines cut off early sometimes, emulates okay but needs a ton of hacks to have upscaling and proper effects alignment

3 is the best example of a decent game getting ruined by the technical side of things, the combat is fluid and rather fun but not at the 5-20fps it's delivered 95% of the time, emulation can partially fix the issue if you have a really good PC (think overclocked 7700k/8700k), the undub is official, but it doesn't affect the DLC chapters, and I've tried to rig an undub patch myself (pasting the JP audio in the Eng DLC files) but that didn't work out great (audio randomly is still eng and it crashes in a few places) and obviously the text is still from the Eng dub so it's pretty shit (granted the undub is worth it just to not hear the Eng voices that are just atrocious)

I have a R5 2400G with Linux on it. The only distro that worked out of the box was the Ubuntu 18.04 beta. It works without any effort at all- that means graphics and audio over HDMI right off the live CD. Other distros will get around to it eventually, might switch once that happens.

I'm trying to remember a game.

All I remember is you play as a woman in some kind of mansion and the mansion is filled with robots that look exactly like the woman (I don't think they started out that way though). As the game progresses, the AI that runs the mansion starts to learn by observing you as you progress through the mansion. As you move throughout the mansion, you'll notice you leave behind some kind of disjointed afterimage. You learn later that this is the AI "taking pictures" of you, freeze-frames of your body's position at that instant in time. Then, there'll be a countdown followed by a blackout throughout the mansion. When the lights in the house are turned back on again, the drones that look like you have learnt new moves, depending on what you did back when the lights were on. They can do everything you can do. The danger being in that if you play the game all-guns-a-blazin, they'll imitate that and start firing back, making the game nigh-impossible to finish. The danger always being that anything new you do in the light, the drones that the AI controls will learn it and then use it against you.

I cannot remember the game's name. Just that it had a very interesting graphical style and the gameplay was nice too. I also remember that the game had a "So we some kind of suicide squad?" moment where the title of the game is mentioned in the actual in-game dialogue.

I'd like to ask about the PC ports of Dead Rising(1,2 and Off The Record, as well as about the quality of the games themselves) and if Copy Kitty is a good game or not.

N64, DC and PC are close to each other but obviously N64 is cutting corners and PC is a pain in the ass to run on modern systems, DC also has an extra secret area.

PS1 has more major differences, less levels, frankensteined versions of a few levels and a final boss that is diferent (think arcade 3D shmup instead of freeflying)

DS version is utter shit, N64 version with more bugs and worse controls

iOS I have never played or touched or heard about, it's based on the DC version.

3DS version is decent, it's the DC version but with slightly worse controls because 3DS

The 2D handheld games are shite afaik

The PS2 remake is another thing entirely, it's not necessarily the best version either depending on who you ask, it has a hubworld linking most levels together and more / bigger levels, but it's also buggy at times.

I'd recommend you just play the version you directly have access to (as long as it's not DS) and try one of the other version with big differences if you want more (meaning you wanna play the PS1, PS2 and any of the other versions if you wanna experience all the major revisions of the game)

If you're gonna emulate be warned that R2R is very picky as to when it will let you get past the Clark cutscene but outside of that it won't crash any more often than on the real thing aka you most likely will see it crash once at the very least

Just downloaded it, the game actually gets worse once the walking sim part is over. Graphics are excellent, the environment looks incredibly good and the suit HUD as well as the cube have some interesting things going on as well.

Animations are below average and the main character is tumblr tier, however the dialogue doesn't reflect that, it's pretty nice to listen to. I like the implied setting and the backstory of it all. The setting had some "At the Mountains of Madness" going for it, but once the deal with the clones is made clear it sort of loses its mystery.

Gameplay as far as i can tell is just shit, third person stealth is rarely good and this is just bland bullshit, the AI gimmick doesn't help things either.

That's an interesting review. How do you think Echo could be done better?

My thought is that the concept of Echo would be done much better if the palace was just a single level from a game. Perhaps even the final level after a series of AI-generated challenged (note: not procedurally-generated challenges but rather, the AI-character like GlaDOS). The game seems like a neat idea but it's stretched too far unfortunately.

There was this PSP 3rd person game where your character had the ability to equip a gun to his head. It had a sequel too from what I can remember.
