Okay here's my write-up on the TitS
it's kind of like a semi-review of sorts, but more mainly my thoughts on these games. I loved the adventure of it all. Any critique is just me wanting to hold something I love to the flame to see if it'll survive it, I still consider this shit to be an 11/10 as far as I'm concerned despite all its flaws so bear that in mind. Obviously there will be spoilers especially if you haven't played/finished the TitS games so hover at your own risk.
I guess I'll start off with the negatives and cons first because I want to get past it quick so I can praise the game for the rest of the time. I'll try to keep the entire series in mind when critiquing, and if something is a game-specific problem or flaw when pointing it out, I'll clarify that. Keep in mind this all comes from a place of love before you ream me.
Cons:
-The character models look like potatoes
Honestly this was one of the most annoying things to me in terms of this game. I'm far from a graphix whore and I could understand their problems and limitations, but when the graphics are this ugly, it makes the combat a lot less fun for me. Even more mind boggling is the fact that the combat animations sometimes look great and clearly required tons of effort, such as Ries's s-breaks. Those 3D models looked way beyond anything Falcom had any right to create and it just confuses me as to what happened. I suppose it would make sense to just keep the models consistent between games even if they could improve it, but this is something that annoyed me greatly unfortunately. Even more strange was that it was inconsistent with how the 3D environments looked like. The worlds looked fine graphically, in fact I'd say they were quite nice especially for the time. Why was it just the character models? It defies expectation and common sense.
-Timed Sidequests
This was one of the most infuriating parts of the game to me, especially when parts of the story railroaded you and prevented you from finishing them before they expired. I missed out on cool shit and ultimate satisfaction with pretty much every region throughout the game because of shit like this, oftentimes because I would just miss a sidequest or think I had more time to do them than I really did. Also doing them could sometimes really take a while and that just affected the pacing of the games overall. This is at its worst in FC but its present to a minor extent in SC too. I can understand some merit in time limits, but it would've been nice if they were longer/more generous. When it says (long) but really it means "2 events in the story that could happen very quickly) it really gets on my nerves, especially when I'm eager to go on with the main story where most of the magic of these games lies.
-Joshua's writing in FC
Now, I understand he improves notably, but he still feels like a harem protagonist mary sue edgelord for a lot of the game. I can understand its necessary to some extent to really make the player understand that he's special, but it felt overbearing at times. Kevin and Joshua are actually quite similar in terms of shit like backstory, but I much preferred how they handled Kevin's; his personality wasn't retarded, he was much more personable and human, he didn't get every woman all over him automatically, he wasn't given praise for literally everything he did or even just how he looked (even fucking Agate apparently could tell at a glance there was a lot to him), he also pretty much never had a moment like Joshua where it was some "I sense you're there" bullshit that I can remember. I know Joshua is a teenager so there's some excuses but he was practically fucking Sasuke-tier at certain points. Joshua's best writing in FC came with any interaction he had with Hans, honestly. I can understand the whole inhuman monster look at me you don't know my past, edgy I'm a killer I'm a monster bullshit, but this shit was just too much. Kevin's was so much more subtler, so much more shocking when things are revealed. Maybe its just a difference of characters, maybe its a difference of maturity. One wears his heart on his sleeve but pretends as if he's not, and the other is actually really fucking good at hiding shit, but is even more broken, at least arguably.
Apparently I'm hitting the body text limit so this'll be across multiple posts.

-Combat and Combat Balance
It seems to vary wildly between games. Now I know I'm no expert or can't speak objectively but I can do my best and at least give my own personal thoughts and see whether anons agree or disagree on this. Tita felt absolutely useless in FC compared to everyone else. Zin was broken as all fuck in FC. Arts were overpowered as fuck in FC (and strangely Zin still felt OP, I guess his raw stats and crafts just kinda overcome everything) and orbments had a huge impact in FC, and then in the other games they were nerfed heavily. TitS 3's combat balance was when everything just went straight off the rails.
>deathblows became a turn-based buff
>fucking vanish became a turn-based buff (one of the most annoying things in this game after the deathblow bullshit)
>still never knew what sepith did, assumed it just gave more sepith after killing an enemy
and something that's been always present, the fucking boss fights where they get to hit you first, and the boss gets a lucky crit roll on his first attack which is obviously an s-craft of course.
This is fucking infuriating. I don't like shit where earth wall feels necessary. I'd prefer to avoid using broken shit myself when possible as it just trivializes the game and makes it stale.
>earth wall
>buff
>earth wall
>buff
>spam soul blur/shadow spear/whatever arts
>clock down/debuff if available
>heal when necessary
>can't move from spot or risk losing earth wall for everyone
That didn't happen too often, but it happened often enough to annoy me.
Another thing that just annoyed me was how Kloe felt worse in SC and 3rd than she did in FC. She was still broken as all fuck, don't get me wrong, and still very fun to use, but I sincerely wish she had one less forced blue quartz slot. She would've felt much more versatile in her arts and more satisfying to use.
There are also some boss fights that just feel straight up impossible without numerous retries or a much more heavily grinded or specialized force, like for example those earthworm things with Walter in the hot springs. They just keep fucking spamming and there's nothing you can do, and they have too much HP and are too numerous for you to take down quickly enough, at least on "hard" difficulty.
These are small complaints, but they do add up. There's other small ones like that I can't quite remember as of right now but it just annoys y'know.

-The pacing in TitS 3
Now, the pacing for this game wasn't necessarily bad. It took a while to realize everything, yes but I think overall, especially for one game where they tried to get "everything" wrapped up in as nice as bow as they could, they did pretty well for the most part. However, I do feel the pacing of the story peaked when Kevin and Ries climb up Gehenna and faces off against Weissman. That was an epic moment and the buildup and context for everything was just perfect, one of those moments that makes a strong feeling of hotness rush through your spine and makes your body tingle, but after that… it was kind of fucking ruined. The expected grinding after that point in time in prep for the final chapter probably had a part to play in this; I assume it was basically for gameplay reasons that it effectively peaked, but everything that came after this point just wasn't as satisfying as that moment. The ending felt rushed by comparison, and didn't have nearly as much build-up, effective context, and so forth. SC had a similar problem in terms of gameplay shit making the pacing not as good as it could've been, but it made up for that in spades with an incredibly gripping ending and payoff when you finally do get all that way up there. In TitS 3's case, it didn't feel that way at all. It feels like they just flubbed up on easy shit that could've made their game so much more impactful, like for example that very disappointing final boss theme. I can't even remember it, but it would've been better if they re-used the Weissman battle theme in honesty, or it would've been better had they not used it for the pom battle, even though it was cool it honestly kills the value of the music somewhat, especially since I had to spend so much time fighting them to figure out what they were weak to, and then subsequently to try and get an item out of them. That's more of a personal problem though. It feels like the reward and payoff for that ending, basically, wasn't worth the amount of time. Rufina's death just didn't have as much impact on me as it should've. Sure it got me a bit sad and whatnot, but nowhere near heartjerking or stressful events that didn't even have to involve death in TitS SC and so forth. I know they spent time establishing her and Kevin's relationship but it just did not feel good enough. I felt more for Kevin and Ries than I did for Rufina; her death was only impactful to me because of the impact it had on them than it should've because of her being a character that didn't deserve to die, unlike Loewe's death in SC which literally had me fucking crying brutal tears because not only was the Joshua impact there, but the fact that he, just, I can't explain it right now but they did a much better job writing that one than they did this one.. Not to mention the other "final bosses" basically had no meaning outside of really basic surface level shit, but I don't know this for sure because I didn't test every dialogue combination, such as Agate with red ragnard, or Renne with purple pater mater. One thing I honestly did appreciate though were the final dungeons and bosses and all that shit being relatively short compared to SC but if this is the price to pay for it, it arguably was not worth it at all. The ending where everyone has to leave each other only half-salvaged it in terms of overall lacking.

-Multiple design choices made in TitS 3
I'm gonna talk about TitS 3 as a whole now I guess. It was just a weird fucking game. Felt spinoff-tier in its weirdness, especially compared to the other games. This isn't a full con at all, but I will say where I feel they could've improved.
>the door system
This was weird, but overall I liked it. Gave a way to tell numerous stories across liberl, explain what's happening and all that good stuff, but it feels like there wasn't just flat out wasn't enough to gratify me. The minigames shit was cool and all especially the fishing game one but I wanted more of these fucking doors, not just a shit-ton of dungeon-crawling in a game who's combat system I consider average/decent, or above average at best. Shit like the Kloe door and the Ravens and just all that good, delicious story and character-based and relevant shit, I eat that up.
The reason for Phantasma existing felt a teensy bit contrived. They did a good enough explanation of course, but part of me is still a bit annoyed that they used the Aureole as a sort of overpowered plot device that can theoretically do anything. Thankfully they put enough effort into it where it didn't feel that way to where I can call it a real problem, just a minor annoyance.
The music just flat out was not as good, period, as the other games, I'll put that out there. There was a few good-to great tracks, some used spectacularly but overall the tracks were inferior to SC and FC and unmemorable. At times I wished they'd just reuse old tracks, like for example in Leiston Fortress.
The monsters felt overpowered as fuck at times, though I suspect this had in part to do with the changed combat system. Rarely though did I feel like I had to deal with such overpowered beasts in FC and SC outside of the boss battles and monster sidequests. The fucking arch-devils, man. What the actual fuck. Don't get me started on if a monster starts off with a deathblow turn and hits your party with some AoE shit.
The lack of NPCs and other shit really hurt this game, and the things they did to make up for it feel like they just needed more.
I also felt weird about a "hub world" too. The warp feature though, is certainly convenient. Thank god for that at least. It is annoying though to miss out on shit like how a lot of people were doing in Liberl after the whole Liber Ark collapse thing. We only got a lot of main characters, but there were plenty of people that i feel weren't at least "checked up on" y'know?

I think I've aired out most of my criticisms and grievances, time to go on to the much more positive and abundant side of things and the reason why I consider TitS pretty much an unparalleled masterpiece despite all the problems I personally had with it. Part of the problem is that most of this stuff goes without saying, in my opinion.
Pros
-Interconnected, longform story
This probably gets talked about enough, but the simple fact of the matter is that this game is a fucking epic in video game form. Its the Iliad and the Odyssey or the Lord of the Rings trilogy of video games. What i mean by this is that they managed to make a game that spans a full fucking world and took the time to meticulously craft it. They put in so much effort that they flat out needed two games to tell it properly, and a 3rd game to finish it off. This deserves far more credit because of how hard it must be to accomplish something like this, especially with it overall lacking in plot holes. The pacing of the story as a whole was marvelous. The story of the coup was an excellent starting point, and most parts of the game felt like they contributed very well to telling the story and it transitions near-perfectly into SC. Even mundane shit like sidequests did feel like they had an impact because of the full-on world they bothered to craft to go with it, rather than some contrived bullshit only meant to feed you unique items or for funny shit like gags and whatnot. You are also given a legitimate reason to do these sidequests too, instead of being a generic hero or JRPG protagonist who "must help everyone", you actually are expected to help everyone because you're a bracer and its pretty much expected of you.
-The "grounded" feeling of FC
This deserves a lot of credit. The fact of the matter is that they managed to make a very grounded game. What I mean by that is that you don't feel or do anything too fantastical in FC. That sounds bad, but it actually is the correct tone to have in FC because of how it builds to SC. Estelle and Joshua are novice bracers. The world is their oyster. They don't have any experience with "legends" and shit like that. That shit is pretty much beyond their reach to even think about, and they have to focus on what's in front of them which are ordinary people who need help and real-life individuals who want to cause harm. Your actions all seem logical. You avoid killing people and instead do your best to resolve things peacefully which fits in line with being a fucking bracer. You do your best to follow the rules. You don't bend shit around, you don't go around getting to kill everyone you disagree with or feel did a terrible wrong because you're a JRPG protagonist. You are limited by the world you live in and the characters who are a part of it. It avoids a cliched as all fuck trope and refreshes you by finding unique ways to constrain you, forcing the story to take a more unorthodox and out-of-the-box approach towards things. I don't want to say anything in this game is "realistic" because its a JRPG, but I do feel the low body count throughout FC actually does reflect something you'd expect to hear in real-life. Shooting first and asking questions later isn't how police officers do things (well, for the most part; corrupt and slimy ones excluded) and its not something Bracers do either.

I feel like I should tell you for the sake of fairness and so you can prepare yourself that both the Crossbell and Cold Steel arcs feature male MCs who are unquestionably harem protagonists. Both games, though more on CS's side, also feature an element of picking which girl you like as well. The good news is that Lloyd, the Crossbell MC, could never be accused of being edgy. Though, he can't really be accused of being much else either. He simply just doesn't have much in the way of baggage and thus he doesn't really change much. Crossbell is much more liked for it's very interesting setting and complex political plot. There are still some great characters, too. It's just Lloyd isn't one of them.
I think Rean will bug you more, though. He's a lot closer to Joshua, but I think Rean at least tries not to be as edgy (he's generally a pleasant and personable guy), it's just his past and the plot keep kicking him in the dick, which gives him some issues. By yeah, in both cases the female cast orbits around them. Just fair warning. It's generally agreed that Estelle and Kevin are the better protagonists of the series.
Also the whole "sensing" enemies thing is something pretty much any Trails character with a certain amount of anime power level can do. You'll see plenty of people mentioning doing that in Crossbell and CS.
Oh and one more thing since you brought it up: Crossbell uses Sky's sprites, CS makes the jump to 3D models.

-Unique, memorable, lovable NPCs that you actually care about
The bread and butter and pretty much why everyone praises the trails series, at least from what I've heard. This is easily a very well-earned reputation. I remember pretty much every fucker from Rolent and a lot of people from Ruan vividly. Bose is pretty decent. Grancel is, in my opinion a bit too big of a city for me to remember everyone as well. Zeiss was a city of autism and disappointed me in terms of NPCs. The ones that were good were already "main" characters of sorts such as Gustav, Murdoch, Kilika and Professor Russell. Some factory workers were okay too I guess but really the place as a whole somewhat disappointed me. The hot springs were good though and sorta made up for it.
While I wasn't hyper autistic about talking to every single NPC after every single event, I was moderately autistic enough to do what I felt was "complete enough for my own sake and closure" in terms of my volume of talking with the NPCs. I was extremely fucking worried about Luke and the others when Luciola fogged Rolent. I knew they were pretty much guaranteed not to die or anything like that, but I was still fucking concerned out of my mind. I was fucking tearing up and angry beyond belief. Same thing goes for when the Intelligence division attacked the matron. I was fucking livid and also worried too. Jesus fucking christ. And then those faggots fucking took Vogt hostage too? Fucking disgusting slimeballs. The fact that they trapped General Morgan and you got to interact with his family and grandchild was especially rough, and then they fucking take the kid hostage too, like what the fuck? It was also fascinating to learn the dynamics of the towns and cities too. Bose was interesting with how competitive it was, and Mirano being the "shadow mayor", whatever that means. The churches were also fun to visit, provided a nice contrast as well.
-The music
Falcom doesn't need much praise from me on this front. Everyone knows the fucking music is fucking legendary. One thing to also note was how relevant and fitting the tracks are to the environments, situations and contexts they're used in. They know how to strike the right emotions and tones for pretty much every time that they're used. You'll know you'll get some time to relax every time you arrive on an airship in a new region with that track playing. You know you'll be shitting bricks and holding on tight to whatever is close when that music track plays during the airship archaism chase between Joshua and the Jaegers. You just feel your heartbeat rising when you're in the tournament or the practice battle with colonel Cid and the battle track for it starts playing. You'll know you're soon to be in for an epic battle when track related plays. I remember first hearing this gave me those tingles similar to how I described earlier. This is just gayman perfection. I don't know how they crafted such a marvelous OST track. Don't listen to this track if you're reading this, as its so much better to experience it in its intended context. I also like how they added electric guitar tracks and other shit in SC and made it even more diverse and ranging. There's too much to describe here to be honest but anons will know what I'm talking about. Too many great tracks for this game.

-The amount of just flat out cool shit
This is pretty simple to figure out what I mean, but some examples
>The church (specifically the gralsritters but the church as a whole is pretty cool) being this Hellsing-esque group of fucking badasses
This is reeeeeeally fucking satisfying. Cool as all hell. I didn't expect them to get explored much so imagine my surprise with 3rd. It was quite an experience and I enjoyed it very, very much.
>The Aureole
This is a very very unique subject and theme to be explored in video game, and it does so quite well, avoiding pretension and other bullshit, as well as poor writing. I'm even more shocked that it occurred in 2004-2007, because I was getting strong artificial intelligence vibes from the whole thing. Just as a whole it's fucking fascinating, cool as shit. Liber Ark was a fucking amazing setting, especially with how you learned shit about it.
>Steam tanks and airships (especially the Arseille and Glorious)
Does this even really need much saying? Everyone fucking loves these things.
>Ouroboros
This is an interesting one. A full on secret society capable of, well, everything they did throughout the games? Fascinating as shit. They remained mysterious and are strange and eccentric as all fuck. They made for some unique villains and its not often that you see shit like this in video games, much like the Aureole
>Politics
This doesn't get explored as much as I wanted it to, but it was pretty cool to see it done and done well in a video game and there was more than enough for me to be entertained by it. Olivier and everything to do with the empire caught my eye. Its a shame that a lot of it was in mystery and only gets revealed towards SC and 3rd, but I guess there needs to be something for the next few games in the series right?
>Orbal Gears and archaisms
Wew. Just flat-out cool. Nothing else to say about 'em.
Anyways I've got much more to say but I'm getting tired so I'll take a break for now

I actually like the characters as spirits look. It reminds me of Camelots games ( Shining Force, Golden Sun). There were also quite a few 90s RPGs that used spirits in 3D environments. If you compare Ys Napishtim PC to PS2 you will agree that the spirits look better. They could be higher res thought. They are a lot better in the PC version of Zero.
About the sideqests: We told you to do them as soon as possible. Much more annoying are the hidden sideqests.
The new turn based buffs in the 3rd are related to the higher elements being active. In later games they appear again, but only in certain areas.
The Earth Worms only use their strong attack after you have hit them. The idea is to not use aoe attacks and instead kill them one by one.

I do not know how bad it is on normal difficulty, but a few battles in SC require perfect positioning and use of support arts, while still requiring a certain amount of luck. I actually kinda like the character models. Trails was originally developed for the PSP in 2004 and I'm kind of amazed it looks as good as it does considering the time. Dunno if 2D sprites would work as effectively as the 3D.
I figured out the timed stuff early, I talked to every NPC in between each story part Which was a hassle in Grancel between the rounds of the tournament. There are a few like the Lighthouse keeper and a few others that I completely missed going through blind. Gathering the books for the better weapons is also a pain if you don't know where they are.
I'm glad they changed to Estelle being the main instead of Joshua. Hearing Confession at the end of FC ad having Joshua run off gave both Estelle and you a reason to play through SC.-
He actually reminded me a bit of Soren from FE and Ledah from Riviera, he has edge but he's not cutting himself with it. It's part of his character and eventually gets over it.
>>14650412
Sepith powerup gives bonus Sepith based on the hits a character does. So if you can get Schera to cast Aerial on it, it will hit the enemies multiple times, generating alot of Sepith. Useful in farming in FC. Same works for enemies, meaning Creepy Sheep with their multiple attacks can drain you.
I assume the same thing works for Item Up in 3rd.
>Kevin uses Earth Wall.
>Next turn he casts Zodiac (+25%STR/DEF)
>Have Joshua cast Clock Up Ex on himself.
>And then experiment on what debuffs work on the enemy. Stuff like Clock down can make a difference.
If you're playing above Normal, buffs are necessary.
Kloe might be the only character that has a mandatory 3 element quartz locked. Mind and HP are a given, so giving her a wind quartz allows her to cast La series of area heal spells. Put on Cast and EP Cut and she becomes a decent arts caster. She was always designed as a healbot, while Schera has a bit more freedom. 3rd slot is a bit hard but you can use Freeze or Yin-Yang if you find it.
Few difficult boss fights but I was using a guide that time around so it didn't really hurt for me. Ones I don't like require me to wear an item to resist something like confusion. Having mecha tita KO my party when facing Schwarzritter due to confusion still haunts me.
>>14650475
Got no major complaints about 3rd. Probably would have saved a few hours from grinding but I don't mind.
>>14650481
That's what 3rd is, it's both a send off to old characters and plot threads to the new stuff in Ao and Zero. As for the Doors, pretty much every character gets one. Only Oliver doesn't get a significant one but considering CS is in Erobonia, there's a good chance of his past coming up then.
My thinking to Phantasma was that it's kinda like Etrian Odyssey and that you have to get to the bottom to get the reward. That Archdemon on floor 5 or 6 was several levels than you were. Hits like a mac truck though. Agree with the music though, not as many iconic tracks.

NPCs are a big one, you have the couple in Grancel that travel around on Pilgrimage, the woman from Bose and her assistant that travel doing deals. The Mayoral elections in Ruan. The couple from Rolent that travel around in both games. The maid going over to Rolent in SC and deciding to stay. I can't remember names to models but encountering them more than once gives a sense of life of life to the world. In SC even there were a few quests I had completed for people and they posted another quests and Estelle remembers them.
But yeah, I agree with pretty much everything. Glad I started this series a few years ago.

I can tell you there's some minor but fucking retarded issues with controls in the leaked build.
Nisa swapped around which button is used for confirm/back, but they only did for some menus. This gives you some situations where you have to alternate between buttons to select a menu option.
The skill display also doesn't correspond to your face buttons, ie you bind a skill to the south face button but it shows up as the east button on the hud.
I don't know if any of these have been fixed, but I know that lots of people are complaining about the game failing to recognize your controller on the steam boards. I personally had to switch my controller to directinput mode since it refuses to recognize xinput controllers.
I'll report back in more detail once my torrent finishes.

WHY IS THIS IMPORTANT AND HOW HARD COULD IT FUCK NISA?
NISA's current situation
NISA has been losing IPs and they are in a very bad situation. You have to understand that NIS makes absolutely no profits at all and relies exclusively on NISA to stay afloat, meaning that NISA itself has a big handicap. In other words: they are desperate. They know that if they can't keep bringing new games/releases, they could die. But what if they lose Falcom as well?
NIS/A's relationship with Falcom
In the last years, NISA has been releasing Falcom games on Europe on behalf of XSEED (which translates and releases their games most of the time for NA and PC). This time, NISA went all desperate and managed to get Ys 8. They promised a PC port day 1 and French tl.
But because the translation was garbage, there was a small email campaign directed to Falcom. A few days later, they apologised promised a retranslation (Falcom probably saw the emails and demanded NIS/A an answer).
In other words, they fucked up and Falcom didn't like that at all. And they just fucked up again: the day 1 PC port got delayed 7 months and it's utter trash.
The final blow to hurt even further Falcom and NISA's relationship
In a recent shareholder's meeting, Falcom's president pointed out how well received are their games on PC thanks to Steam and GOG reviews. If the game gets a massive amount of negative reviews, Falcom will get the message: fans don't want NISA's releases.
What to do
Get the game on Steam or GOG, play the game for less than 2 hours, then submit a negative review- Don't make it painfully obvious that you hate NISA, focus exclusively on the issues. Finally, ask for a refund and get your money back.
On the other hand, mark as helpful all the negative reviews on Steam/GOG and do the oppositve to positive reviews.
Ys 8 was a game made with the Western market in mind, and NISA fucked them up. Now it's time for them to lose another publisher. Hit them where it hurts.

They lost Spike Chunsoft, Idea Factory and GUST's IPs, now that they have established their own North American subsidiaries (Koei Tecmo absorved GUST). Now they want to stay in Falcom's good graces. These two paragraphs from that WayPoint article support what I am saying:
>What does seem obvious, however, is how the choice to re-translate was fueled by the NIS America bottom line, for a variety of reasons. Conspiracy theories aside, it was their first time on Ys, and they screwed it up. Not only did that reflect poorly on the fans who’d supported them, but it could taint future business opportunities for NIS America. If they weren’t seen as a studio who could honor the games they were working on, they could lose projects. As more and more Japanese companies handle their own translations, the ripple effects may have hung around for years.
>“That pie is getting smaller and smaller,” said Costa. “It's very important to us that we deliver on our promises and we deliver a high-product. It wasn't an ideal situation at all, but it did, at least, give us an opportunity to show our sincerity and our belief in a quality piece of work.”
There's really not much left in the smaller-scale JRPG space in Japan for NISA, now that GUST is owned by KT and IF/Spike Chunsoft are doing their own localizations. We need to make our voices heard and tell Falcom that we are not happy with NISA's shoddy work.

There's absolutely no official source saying that. However we're less than six months until CS4's release and CS3 still isn't out even in China or Korea (with no word on it happening either), so before too long it'll be true regardless.

Sad to say, a lot of people are. Durante, for instance. He posted updates about the CS2 port as he was working on it there. I still find it incredibly creepy how fast it was set up when Neogaf burned and how much it seemed to retain Gaf's old reputation as an "industry insider" forum even though it should have taken way longer. They didn't miss a single beat It makes me really think there is a shadow cabal of SJWs who run everything like it's fucking Deus Ex.

sometimes I wish there were more good forums with names. Most devs and insiders wouldn't want to come here outside of maybe leaking because of the anonymous nature. Probably for the best since they wouldn't be able to attention-whore here but they'd honestly get a lot of respect just for being willing to come to this shithole (in terms of reputation) willingly

I remember hearing about a leak at resetERA a few weeks after it got set up and thinking that was suspiciously soon. I get the feeling that people leak not to leak but legitimize their site.
>look here is the most well respected gaming forum on the internet
<look how progressive we are you should take notes
After a few leaks it becomes the defecto leaking site as anywhere else will get a lot more suspicion on its validity. It is a bunch of games journalist, sjw devs, and their ilk who are trying to make their club the coolest place on the block. Not that complicated just more in line with cronyism than anything else.

Sorry about that. Ys I & II Chronicles are the early 2000s remakes of two late 80s games. If he's going to play the other games, he should go by release order, it's the best way to experience the series. There's a guide at the very top.

3 and Origin are considered the best, but really, they are all good for different reasons. SEVEN and Celceta are considered weaker entries mainly because it was Falcom trying to change the gameplay to a party based system that didn’t quite work at the time.
