The problem with that is that that'd be a huge change that could very well kill the game and it's community. Adding a cooldown to building would make things worse if a squad were to hunker down right where the circle is closing, and an opposing squad needed to push up. I tried the game. I tried it with a friend and her friends. It was not a pleasant experience. As always, people care more about having conversations and socializing than playing the fucking game. We got our asses handed to us in every round, and I just got sick of it. Then, I decided to give it a try on my own so I could focus on the game and better observe the gameplay. It turns out that it's shit.

The maps are fucking huge, and for no other reason than because they don't want players to immediately kill one another and have every match last a maximum of 3 minutes. Because maps are fucking huge, you're going to spend a shit ton of time moving between areas while scavenging for items. This means that most of your time is downtime, which is boring. Eventually, the map gets smaller, and people start dropping off. Things get a bit more interesting here, but the game mechanics fucking suck. It's like they took unreal tournament, slapped on a cartoon aesthetic, and removed all sense of verticality from the game. Most players try to end you before you get a chance to notice they're around, and the last remaining players end up having fucking sniper battles from across their little forts. Since you only get one life, most players just leave before the match is over, because nobody wants to wait 15 minutes to try again.

It's boring shit and I don't get the appeal. The actual shooting is serviceable, but if you like it, there are other games you could play that are faster paced and more engaging than this trash. The only reason it's popular is because it's memeshit.The big popular streamers will play it, which gives little Timmy a hard on. So, every kid from here to China and back plays this game so they can feel like they're a part of something. Some people play it because they think it will give them access to popularity. Some people play it because they genuinely think it's a fun game, but I would guess that they're in the minority.

If you like this game, well far be it for me to tell you what to do with your time, but I have to question your tastes.

There's two ways to play BR games. You can play to WIN or play to have FUN. WINNING means diving into a bathroom with a shotgun and aiming at the door until someone opens it and blowing them away until you need to move. The game itself looks fun for an hour or two, exactly the attention span of the targeted audience. Soon, Fortnite 2 will emerge and multiplayer for the first will be discontinued. If you have participated in this social conditioning /milking type games, you are the cancer.

I play it with friends almost exclusively, and as most people who do the same have pointed out, it's a social thing, we generally just shoot the shit while playing. The gunplay is pretty trash but there is quite a thrill with a close victory. If your team is already good, knows what they're doing and can easily secure a victory, it's not nearly as thrilling, but it's the moments when it's down to the wire or you're horribly outmatched that make it fun. For instance, me and a friend were in duos and he died at the very end of the game so it was just me and 3 other duo squads, they were fighting it out but at the same time spamming me with rockets and raining gunfire while other teams were pushing on me, I got out by the skin of my cunt with 6 hp and sniped one of the last team's members in the head, knocking him, while his friend frantically tried to both revive him and escape the storm. I knocked them out of their tower and killed the downed guy, then it was just me and this fag running along and building, I took some shots at him and he tried to leap into the air and get the final hit on me, but I was faster and knocked him out of the air with a burst from my scar. When shit gets hairy like that, your heart goes fucking bonkers and you have insane focus.

In Quake or UT, it becomes much more intense when you actually have a killstreak going and don't want to die. Even CoD has this. The reason why this game is popular is because it's accessible, you can play on PC, Xbone, PS4 and mobile, all platforms are in the same server, you can customize your character with skins n' shit, when you lose a match you can just go straight into another and most importantly it isn't a buggy piece of shit like PUBG.

It's just a shitty fad and the hype will die down on the next cashgrab. I never understood the cosmetics. The aesthetics on them are rarely good, and for the most part, it gets even worse the rarer it is. In fact, the more expensive items just make you stand out in the game, thus making you an easier or bigger target. I just don't get it. Some people also seem to like the cosmetics just cause they're rare, rather than because they look good.

On another note, you're completely right about the community. It's a shame that the community is a deciding factor in multiplayer and singleplayer games, but I can't help it if I feel uncomfortable being grouped with a bunch of literal shiteating retards, shitskins, or little brats.

I will admit that it's a good thing that they've region locked the game, but the devs' hard work is all for naught from my perspective because the gameplay, at its fundamental, blows donkey dick. I just got an absurdly fast monitor (165Hz) so I needed something fast and no modern game is as fast and fun as UT can be. So I've been playing UT3 with 130% speed and the relics mutator. It's already fast but when I get the Agility relic it's retarded fast. I have UT2004 installed too but I like the relics mutator for power-ups better than the adrenaline power-up mechanic.
