A guy who happened to play the Jap version gave us a list of pros and cons about the game over here: >>14359826 and made some comparisons to Freedom Wars gameplay-wise. I've watched the two seasons, and I can agree with this. After a point in the story, he's too infallible, but I don't think it's that big of a deal.

I don't remember any of this. Granted, it was half a decade since I watched the show, so I may simply not remember. They use the advanced VR hardware, which at the same time keeps them trapped in the fantasy worlds and vulnerable given the connection to the nervous system. When they die in the artificial worlds, they wind up dead in the real world. Doctors are unable to disconnect them from the devices given clever design. No exceptions, and all of this makes sense to me. Really, I think its very clever world-building. I mean, this isn't really something that could happen in the real world: The government would certainly make sure that new tech wasn't this dangerous before the public got access to it. But for a story, it's plausible enough and very creative. What's your beef?

Try watching someone streaming late game rather than the first 15 minutes. While it's possible to get by without skills or gadgets, the average retard will get slaughtered pretty quick, then the NPCs will be shot like fish in a barrel trying to revive you. Trying to mindlessly rely on the autoaim will leave you without a single bullet to fire in short order, especially if you're dual wielding guns. In extreme mode, you'll find yourself in deep shit from the start.

In general, the game has a lukewarm challenge level with a few bullshit challenges like bullet sponge enemies that can one hit kill you with undodgeable attacks or places where large groups of enemies zerg rush you. There's a few areas in the game where enemy placement was well thought out, and those are where you'll find a genuine, hard but fair challenge. Unfortunately, there's only a few dungeons like that. It definitely doesn't play itself for the most part, but the dev's idea of challenge is Nintendo hard. Chalk it up to the modern gamer forcing devs to make things easy.

As for difficulty, I'm only a few hours in, not sure what I'm doing in terms of moving the story but I know how to equip skills.Most of the regular AI enemies can give you a run for your money if you decide to play guns blazing without setting yourself up for it, Bigger enemies will fuck with you if you let them, and higher leveled enemies (a boss I fought was level 28 while I was level 5, took me til about level 13, with skills, first aid kit, and plenty of ammo and kiting to take it out, but at that point it was more autism on my part than anything). Gameplay itself isn't too bad. Not sure what triggers NPC pvp, but the bit I had got my shit pushed in because, again, lack of preparation, but it was interesting.

All in all, I'd say >>14400530 is on the money, although I've just started.
