I'm bombarded with "opportunities" throughout a mission, where you eavesdrop on a conversation between 2 people and find out something from it and it puts a blip on your screen that leads to another and another and another until you can assassinate your target.

Many of these opportunities involve someone being absent, or ill, or not having been in contact with key figures in the level. Like for example in the mission set in Italy, you can steal the uniform of a cook who hasn't met the head chef yet, allowing you to poison the meal cooked for the target.

Or disguising yourself as the temporary drummer of a band that hasn't met the lead (the target) because the the regular drummer left the band. The lead member leads you onto a roof where he excuses the guards and then you can conveniently push him over a ledge he leans on while he bitches about shit.

Or disguising yourself as the temporary camera man that hasn't met the reporter and producer after the regular camera man got ill. You've got to cover the riots outside the Swedish embassy in Morroco and you have to interview the guy you are supposed to kill. The producer says to go "upstairs somewhere" and fix the lights, and there's a conveniently placed winch you can interact with which will drop a giant ceramic reindeer on your target and kill him.

Or disguising yourself as the point man for the militia mission who sprained his ankle in a training exercise, and has yet to meet the team coordinator (your target).

There are 6 missions in total (not counting the prologue) and this describes 4 of them. The only one not counted is the Paris mission, but that has you disguise yourself as a guy that basically already looks like you and allows you to into a private room with your target, all alone and in closed doors. The 6th mission I haven't even played yet.

It's Hitman nigger. All of the games are meant to be replayed, it is one of the few non linear stealth games. It takes me 6 hours to complete Blood Money but I've replayed it a million times to try out different tactics to approach my target, forcing myself not to use suppressed weapons, default gear only, killing only with unsuppressed weapons or just going full Rambo.

I only played the first episode but compared to hitman 2 it's a masterpiece. I don't really get all the praise for early hitman titles, they are linear trial and error puzzle games where your map indicates the position of every guard in the level so the handholding you seem to despise is already there.

And then you have shitty stealth mechanics, incomprehensible ai and clunky controls. Not to mention the gay ass hitman 2 fake orchestral soundtrack from jesper kyd, that shit is ridicolous and completely out of context and yet everybody loves it.

the AI in blood money wasnt great, but it wasnt bad for the time and it was still better than nuhitmans ai atleast luring every enemy on the map into a single room and killing them with stealth quicktime events wasnt a viable option because enemies would start screaming and running around and would make it damn near impossible for them to not be hostile towards you causing you to either have to take the rambo option, or restart the mission.

i dont recall hitman blood money allowing you to see every enemy through walls like a fucking CS cheat engine. though it did have some form of a "spider sense"

also, blood money had fairly vague hints of what to do, where the HUD in nuhitman literally tells you your options way too specifically when the fun of the game is centered around figuring out what to do and how to do it.

blood money wasnt my favorite, i liked contracts more, but blood money had some cool touches i enjoyed like the newspaper and how noteriety would carry over into future missions, and how they added being able to build loadouts and customize your shit.

They actually made the AI smarter after beta, you could do this same shit in all of the older Hitman games too, particularly Blood Money, just dropping coins and pushing people off of ledges and those are all "accidents" so you can get Silent Assassin rating even if you get shot at and seen, human shield like 20 people, and throw them all off the ledge and kill them, still silent assassin.

Okay, let's see here.

-A Vintage Year

Plenty. Down stairs, cliffs, ledges, basement full of them.

-Curtains Down

Plenty. Stairs and tons of viewing balconies.

-Flatline

Balconies on balconies, also stairs and pools.

-A New Life

Some stairs, multiple pools and the second floor of the building has a place you can push people on, also the window in the indoor pool can be thrown a coin at to kill anything below it.

-Murder of the Crows

Plenty of stairs inside most buildings., most buildings have places you can push people from.

-You Better Watch Out

Easiest way to kill first target is to shoot the pool (causing around 4 accidents), second guy can be again pushed off a ledge. Also quite a few staircases.

-Death on the Mississippi

Ledges on ledges on ledges. You can ignore mostly everything and disarm push everyone that gets in your way off a ledge.

-Till Death Do Us Part

Second floor has plenty of ways to push people. Easy to dump knocked out bodies in the river.

-A House of Cards

AI can be manipulated to be pushed out of balconies easily.

-A Dance With the Devil

Again, tons of ways to push people off of ledges.

This is shitposting at this point. Guards had less than 20 meters of vision if you were crawling or rolling, camouflages made quite literally no difference, you had little to no reason to upgrade above the default gear since the default tranqulizer gun was among the best.

Contracts is entirely online, so no. It prevents you from unlocking content (i.e. other entry points, other equipment options) in singleplayer campaign, although it doesn't matter because the default of Silverballer, fibre wire, coin works all the time and is the best for going into missions blind.

It's not Blood Money, but it's just a smidgen above contracts. The opportunities can be skipped and mostly they're humorous shit. The levels are amazing. The only real drawback is the DRM and the disappearing daily missions, it makes no fucking sense.

Without the bullshit, it would be my favorite Hitman game, but I guess it's not complete until "Season 2" so weäll see.
