Because Yoko Taro keeps coming up with new shit to add to his games months after they come out. Did you know that Emil fought the aliens at some point? Or that Beepy survived, became a collective of robots, and burst through a mountain in the middle of the machine/android war and told them free will is cool? No? That's because it wasn't in the fucking game! It came out after Neir but before Automata, Don't even get me fucking started on his terrible play.

Here's my advice, don't bother. I mean, if you really want to be that guy who can list off the insane lore of a series like Kingdom Hearts or Digimon, or know the intricacies of the Japanese Sonic the Hedgehog manual stories, go ahead and be that guy. But if you just want to enjoy Yoko Taro's insanity just let it be. The fact that we are both aware a gay skeleton head fought aliens can be considered a problem. I've never even played a Yoko Taro game what the fuck is wrong with me.
