For anyone curious how Fureruhades starts: Kururus' brilliant plan is to go to the monster world and get beaten to a pulp until he's considered not dangerous anymore. However when he gets there he is weakened anyway since the goddess shards have no effect in the monster world. After a detour with some bandits (whose leader you make your waifu), you meet the queen of the monster country who says it doesn't matter if the goddess shards have no effect, she still considers you dangerous for having them. She shows mercy and gives you the task of subduing some rebel groups without killing them, and if you do so you can live in the monster world permanently. The game makes it clear that she has some ulterior motive for Kururus though.

Writing's not the best, but it's still entertaining for what it is. You get to change how events play out and party up with your favorite heavenly knight if you want. Having Tamamo dispense ancient wisdom and slap down weaklings is fun. There's also collecting the spirits in any order, and boss fights get replaced with super versions that require more strategy, like Granberia considering you a serious threat in Iliasburg and Tamamo temporarily unsealing to duel you. Everybody should have the opportunity to play this godgame. i'm a bit late but let me give you some context.
The first Rance game came out in the 1980s and it was a pretty sucessful franchise for a while, not too popular but not too niche. Evenutually around the foruth game the series really started to decline and Alicesoft was going to close down. So the company made one final push in the fifth rance game.
Alicesoft put a bunch of time and effort into Rance 5 (kikichou rance or something like that) and made it an amazing game. Its a tactical grand strategy game that's still worth playing imo.
Anyway, the rance series became incredibly popular as a result, and then Alicesoft were in a pickle. You see, Rance 5 was about the entire universe of Rance and after it was released the timeline became so bloated and convoluted it became non-canon and remade into rance 5D.
So anyway, just start off at Sengoku then check out Rance VI if you like JRPGS.

The game is developed by Uru (yes, that giantess artist), and it's still not complete.
A mediocre game, on a scale of 1 to 100, i give it a 94.
