I like to divide BRs between 2D era (NES, mega drive, etc) and 3D era (now).
Gaming (and otaku culture) basically died in the country when the 3D consoles hit because of a myriad of reasons, so these 2 are very different crowds.
On the extreme ends you got 40 year olds who never bothered touching anything after the mega drive, and 14 year olds who have never played a single video game that isn't league of legends. Over here you mostly see people playing CS:GO and Dota on cringy national television documentaries.
