Making him fight with clothes on is actually stupid. Even if it seems like an insignificant change, it makes no sense. He is supposed to be smart and sophisticated outside of combat, but bloodthirsty when fighting. He ditches the suit in favor of the loincloth because he wants to be completely unfettered in battle.
