The state of the industry has left me so cynical that I find it incredibly difficult to enjoy videogames anymore. When I see an upcoming release, my first thought is usually how they'll fuck it up rather than any measure of excitement. Worse yet, I can see the business practices of the current year get normalized as they get swallowed by the general public. Just like DLC. Just like Season Passes. It seems that publishers/developers are genuinely looking to see how little they can offer and still charge full price for. Besides that, everything has to be a competitive PvP budding esport with rankings and all that wack shit. And on top of that, the most popular game currently is an unfinished dumpsterfire of a game, which they hosted a tournament for and for some reason people just eat it up.
I don't get it anymore. I want a new hobby.
