Hey there /v/, hope you're doing well. So I decided to sell some of my games and sold Super Smash Bros 3DS, and some days later the guy that bought it sent me a video where the game doesn't start and instead shows "An error has occurred, please press the Power button to turn down" screen. He also sent me videos of another games he has and they don't show this message. I didn't play the game a lot and was kept in my drawer until recently to be sold, so the game wasn't damaged or played it a lot. Do you have a solution or fix to this? I find threads in other sites but provide with vague answers and other people describing their unique troubles with the game. I'd really appreciate your help.

What makes you think asking here will be more fruitful than the search engine of your choice?

This. Secondhand purchases are as-is.

Did you try turning it off and turning it back on?

It's possible that the cartridge is defective. I think the right thing to do is get the game back to try it yourself and send a refund.

It might be better to ask >>>/tech/ about this.

Does he have wifi turned on? There's a known glitch on the 3DS where it freezes with that error. The good news is, if that's the problem, it's got nothing to do with your cartridge - it's his 3DS.

Tell him to try starting the game with the wifi turned off. If that works (but he wants his internet back), he can probably fix it entirely by opening up the 3DS, removing the network board, and plugging it back in again until it clicks.

(The glitch doesn't normally occur on game startup but rather while browsing the main menu - but I wouldn't be surprised if Smash attempts to "phone home" every time you run it.)

Have you checked if the game is from the same region as your console?

>Trusting /v/ to give you good advice

That was your first mistake.
