For the new players, make sure to pickup the Primed Pressure Point since it's pretty much mandatory on every melee weapon build.
Primed Heavy trauma has a few niche builds/weapons it can be used on.
Primed Ammo mutation is fine for a few extremely ammo hungry secondaries, if you are not using carrier.
Primed Bane of Corruped was pretty good back in the good ol' void key days. (But it's meh now)
Prova Vandal has meme's but it's a machete and that means it be quite shit. (Unless you have that one stance and/or just want to meme)
Rest is cosmetics and inaros, jew at your own judgement.

Problem with PSO2 is that it's one of those "solved" games.
Each class has a cookie-cutter build that everyone use, and some may have fun memebuild or two, heavily reliant on specific gear, but other than that not only deviating from "established" builds will reduce your efficiency without any returns, but also won't even change your playstyle anyway.
Story is straight and simple as kids cartoon, all classes are solved, gear is no longer RNG dependent, all new content is just old content but with remixed enemies and backdrops.
New classes are just stronger old classes.
It's a stale game that doesn't change and doesn't encourage experimentation. For years now.
There is nothing to discuss.
They didn't even bother to update cloth physics or shaders or animationless wooden hands.
There was one major graphics update some years ago and it doesn't hold up anymore anyway.
On the flip side WF lets you pull some bullshit builds that are somehow legit against level 100+ enemies, has some really interesting weapons and frames, that can be played differently based on how you mod them, and meta is constantly changing because DE's are hacks that neither want players to have free fun nor can competently deny them finding new ways for it.
And while they killed any lore and story discussion with space kids, gameplay is still fertile ground for discussions and shitflinging as these threads vividly demonstrate.
And they keep updating engine and graphics, keeping game on par with current western AAA games, most of which can't really hold a candle to warframe.
So there you have it. PSO2 may be better game overall, but WF is better game to have threads and discussion about.

if it means you hit 3 guys instead of 1, it's a 200% increase in damage. 5 guys instead of 1 is a 400% increase. obviously it's not an exact measurement, but the end result amounts to the same; less attacks needed to kill more guys. given that this is a horde-type game, being able to clear more targets at once is generally a good thing.

faster attacks = faster combo count gain = higher combo count multiplier = more damage. melee before the 2.0x multiplier is kinda meh, so the quicker you can get to 2.0+ the better you do. it's why Body Count is considered to be such a key mod for non-gimmick melee builds. and again, more attacks in X period of time = more damage.
part of it is preference though. i know people who will put spoiled strike on a naturally fast weapon just so they can nail the combos easier. the extra damage is just a nice bonus at that point.

Corrosive strips armor. Armor scaling is your main enemy in the game, and if you're not running 4x Corrosive Projections or 3x Corrosive Projection 3x Coaction Drift you're going to have issues at higher levels because Grineer and Corrupted Heavy Units have insane armor scaling, jacking up their effective health massively depending on whether or not they have the armor.
So either you strip the armor, or ignore it altogether with Viral procs (halves health of target on proc) and Slash procs (does finisher damage ignoring armor over 6 seconds,) because if you try to crit away 3.2 million effective hp you're going to fail.

The only advantage the normal spy frames is they won't alert the enemies between vaults, but Nova can portal through every laser on corpus tiles, the energy fields on grineer and can portal through every part of lua spy. Press 4 to slow cameras/sensors or just fucking nuke them with 2.

Loki or Nyx or a high-status radiation weapon are almost necessary against corrupted past a certain point due to the ancient healer aura. being able to push a button and cancel it out (like with Loki's aug'd 4 or Nyx's 3) goes a long way to controlling the bullshit of a healer aura.

I forgot about that rule and brought a nova instead of something with a bit more survivability, so me going down is entirely my fault. nah m8, you're just shit. i've successfully used all of those (minus SnA P cause i don't have it yet) in all types of sorties. i've done this with varying builds as well. my nikana sortie build is slash focused with ~35% crit and status chance + life strike and berserker and body count. once i get into the 2x multiplier range it shreds things just fine, even high armor targets (thanks to slash procs and super high attack speed). i build crit on my lex P and slap radiation on it and it'll shred most anything it comes into contact with except the heavy grineer units, but then i'll just pull out my braton prime built for status and corrosive to shred their armor before one-shotting them in the head with the lex P. i could go on, but of the weapons shown there, only the ogris and the afuris are genuinely in a poor position at the sortie level.

forma are a bottleneck for crafting all the clan research shit. and realistically there's no content that you need formaed gear against. hell, you don't even need potatoed gear vs 99% of it. i didn't bother using any until i was done with crafting.
dropping potatoes on a regular version of a weapon is pretty dumb if there's a prime available, they're much better and not hard to get when unvaulted.
for warframes it doesn't matter as much, the only difference is some tank stats, but i still wouldn't potato a frame when the primed version is unvaulted. for rhino though, he's vaulted and prime costs a fuckton, so i wouldn't feel bad about using a potato on him if you're a fag that likes him.

I say the easiest way to go is to start investing on syndicates as soon as you can, and refrain from spending standing on anything until you reach max rank. Unless you absolutely hate shotguns, you can get either the Sancti Tigris or the Vaykor Hek, both are endgame weapons and completely free of RNG grinding. Best tip someone gave me early on in the game. There are also good weapon blueprints you can get straight from the market for credits, and others from clan research. After you have a good weapon, the grinding is a lot more bearable. If you wait to grind for a prime weapon to invest a catalyst in you will probably drop the game, because grinding with shit gear sucks

Stomp has higher base range, with slightly lower duration. Rhino also doesn't have an animation when his stomp ends, and it can affect almost everything. Nezha's spears can also be resisted by enemies in certain eximus auras.

stomp doesn't interrupt your iron skin cast halfway through the animation so you can flail your arms around like a faggot and then get picked off by rockets and hit scan weapons. nezha's 4 is significantly weaker than stomp, because while stomp may have a slightly longer wind-up time, it's pure CC from there on out. there's no stupid animation that cancels fucking everything else you're doing while you "slam" the enemy into the ground for negligible damage.

If you press your crouch key while moving you will perform a "slide" maneuver, which enables you to maintain momentum through animations. Nezha has a passive bonus to this maneuver's speed and duration.
Alternatively, you can jump and press your aim key to "aim-glide", which will also let you comfortably keep momentum during animations. This can be used to stay mobile during the initial casting of Nezha's 4, as well as the ending.
Failing these options, or in the event that you need to reactivate your shield in a dangerous situation right as spears are running out, you may press your 5 key and crouch. This enters "void mode" which will allow you to just do whatever the fuck you want with impunity.
meming aside, the problem with spears is that he can only have one set up at a time. i'ld still rather shoot at speared enemies than stomped enemies though

just so we're clear, when the duration on nezha's 4 ends, if there is any enemy left that is impaled, no matter how far away they are, nezha will interrupt whatever he is doing to do the "slam" animation. if you are rezzing someone, he will stop rezzing them to do his gay little slam animation. if you are hacking a console, he stop hacking in the middle of it to do his gay little slam animation. if you're gliding through the air with the greatest of ease, taking pot shots at the plebs walking on the ground and you run out of ammo and need to reload, and the duration ends during the reload, you will cancel the reload and do the slam animation, gracefully, as you glide through the air.
the point is that the slam animation overrides every-fucking-thing else that you could be doing if it happens to coincide with the timer on your 4 running out. it's an ability that will take control of your character away from you for almost 0 gain, because even with a power build the slam damage is pitiful. this causes a not-insignificant amount of otherwise-avoidable death, as you find yourself locked into an animation at a bad time. rhino doesn't have this problem. nothing interrupts iron skin. you push 2 and you will receive your buff, regardless of whatever the hell else is happening around you.

Very easy to use & handle when modded for firerate & reload speed. Ideal for indoor corpus tilesets where you'll be using secondary & want to just tell enemies to fuck off away from your face. A decent weapon for early-mid game players but I don't find myself using it anymore @ MR23

Some weapons don't have any polarities on them but require all the highest drain mods if you wanna make them do stupid shit, for example the Opticor and the Ignis wraith both start with only 1 polarity while the Pyrana has a whopping 0. There's many more weapons like this, like the Amprex.

look at the basic required mods for an idea of you would need to do to make a no-polarity gun worthwhile. max rank rivens are 18 drain, and max Serration/HS are 14 drain apiece. that's more than you can fit on a gun w/o a potato, and even with a potato you still only have 28 points to screw around with. if you're going for a pure damage build (90% elem mods etc.) or adding certain corrupted mods then you won't be filling up more than 5 of those 8 weapon slots. so Riven + raw dmg mod is two forma, while damage boosters like multi-shot mods and crit mods usually tack on another forma apiece, for a total of four forma just to get a no-polarity gun off the ground.
but even without a riven, as seen with the Pyrana anon posted, you can justify throwing in 6-7 forma based on what your needs for the gun are. vid related.

Anon you're right I made an assumption that you'd have to have a low duration to cause that to happen if you mashed 3 right after 4 because it never will happen unless you were setup that way, and it really wont if you know what the fuck you're doing. If a quarter of a second interrupt is that big of a deal to you that you cant work around it, then don't use his 4 plain and simple his 1 is a better CC anyways.
