Do you really need games set in alternate history when you already live in one?

Does this game put any clear, substantial distinction between different calibers? The assault rifle category is made entirely of weapons that look very similar to each other but they fire different ammo types so does the AKM have more stopping power and higher chance to over-penetrate while the AK-74N does less damage but more damage over time through tumble and yaw?

I will never get gun-hipsters who act like caliber makes any sort of overwhelming difference to overall lethality outside of the really major jumps from pistol to rifle to cannon caliber. Getting hit three times in the torso by a 5.56 is just as likely to drop you as getting hit three times by a 5.45 or a 7.62. Even with armor, the force of the blow is going fuck you up enough to, for all intents and purposes, incapacitate you for the length of time most video games occur in.

One of the first things you realize when you actually start handling guns for a living outside of an air-conditioned firing range is "If it's more powerful than .22 it's gonna hurt, if it's more powerful than .45 then it's REALLY gonna hurt."

The intro was referring to the past and how wars were about resources, and it mentioned ww2 as an example but it doesnt say anything posterior about that.

I just realized that Russia is mentioned in Alouette's Good Day, as is their culture and religion, vid related. Looks like history wasn't completely suppressed, even during Neo Arcadia.
