>Gigantic isn't even worth checking out
That's a shame. I played a couple games of it before it went W10-exclusive and it seemed like a fun enough system. The character designs, specifically the one-armed Ottoman-looking owl guy and the robot tank, were colourful and distinct, which I liked even if they clashed heavily. Aside from buying some minions from shops in the side alleys, there was little resource grinding (very good thing) and you could upgrade your character through a skill tree rather than a set progression of skills facilitated by boring runs to and from your main base. The animations were exceptionally smooth, especially for a game of this type, and as an animation enthusiast I would have appreciated an ASSFAGGOTS shooter actually having decent art direction for once.
I did notice that interacting with the arena felt bad, though - I never quite knew how I was gaining currency or how I ought to have been spending it. The UI, too, was very cluttered and I remember having trouble reading the map.
Was there a patch that killed it or was the game doomed from the start? I didn't have the chance to experience a match with more than one character.
