It's great as far as I'm concerned. A lot of people dislike the RNG but it's what I find most fun and creates an exciting, dynamic battle simulation. Even back in the menu after a loss I'm holding my breath as the game rolls the possible injuries for my downed characters. These create a sort of service record (pic related) that, along with superfluous options like party member appearance customization, adds significantly to my attachment to my warband. I love my hacked, scarred, half-blind, peg-legged Sisters of Sigmar immeasurably. Seeing these girls stand up against the horrors of Mordheim (FUCK VAMPIRES) has been some of the most fun I've had this RPG-light generation. Another thing I like is the gameplay loop. I have this Warband that I love and care about but I also have this ever-growing wyrdstone quota assigned to me by my betters, and the mission selection isn't always ideal. Missions have ratings like normal/hard/etc., and I may know there's no way I can survive a given mission yet but not meeting the quota isn't an option. If I fail to meet the quota too many times it's game over, so I have to deploy my warband anyway so I can gather the stuff. I can wait a day or more and hope for a better selection of missions or maybe a warband member will have healed from an injury to even the odds but this also puts me that much closer to my deadline. Being between this constant rock and hard place situation with injuries, quotas and givesnofucks mission selection creates tension and makes for some unnerving decision-making that feels rewarding when I come out the other end successful. I really adore the game. I'm also hopeful about the developer's current project Necromunda: Underhive Wars which is another Games Workshop adaptation.
