Not like it matters, anyone with a brain pirated it and played on non-blizzard servers anyways. The only slightly interesting thing is sc2 being relatively free to play. It has some few fun arcade games, it may even be fun for a game night someday. In either case, OP reeks of shill.

Never cared much about multiplayer but WoL from what I remember has pretty decent campaign, at least until the last mission. The story, characters and somewhat non-linear mission order gave it pretty cool atmosphere of being a captain of the band of renegades going on adventures to look for some ancient artifact, shit on some holy ruins and fuck up some assholes. The parts where you could choose with whom you side with on certain missions was also pretty nice touch when it comes to this whole 'renegade' thing. The next 2 parts are absolute garbage for many reasons. I think WoL was the last game from Blizzard that I didn't regret playing.

I know this is a thing, but I told myself never to use Battle.net 2.0 ever again. Not even for free gibs.

i'm still pissed they broke it into 3 "different games" given the campaign had little doodads added to it that seemed to keep blizzards programmers busy. the changes to multiplayer where minimal. other than the addition of a few new units. the real problem being that you don't get to play with people who have the newer addition unless you have a friend that does and party with them. witch just gives longer wait times for matchmaking.

I bought it back in the day. I had fun. I bought Heart of the Swarm and found it really lackluster. Played maybe an hour of the campaign and 2 hours of matches (probably 3 or 4 hours of arcade as well) and haven't touched it since.

StarCraft is far too micro-heavy to be very fun in high-level play. In low-level, it's scouting and hiding production for what is essentially rock-paper-scissors, but higher-level it becomes essentially impossible to fully suppress good scouting, so it ends up coming down to who can dance the best and drop forcefields in the right places.

Gookclicks are cancer. I thought Planetary Annihilation may have been a renaissance of good macro RTS games, but it ended up being worthless anyway. Good old Total Annihilation and SupCom are all I have.

This is worse than the Fallout 4 shill threads.
