This is a goddamn fun looking fighter. really didn't care for max brass who felt wiiiiide as fuck -and should have been captain falcon- and dobson fetish clown blows. Misango on the other hand looks like a nice change to my usual Twintelle and Master Mummy.

If you don't own it sure. Its not something you will get hundreds of hours out of and if you want a more straight fightan geemu there is Pokken DX but i was sold from the reveal, which is odd because the wii U owning nintendrone die hards i know hated the idea of it strangely- but its a really fun brawler that i would compare to Power Stone if anything.
If you see it cheap its totally worth it, but if you dont play online make sure you know someone else with a switch as logo is the most fun wagglan i've had since wii sports.

ARMS sales numbers 1.35 million (Jun to Oct)

His arms are super gay but kind of suck, although it does some decent damage if you double hit someone with poison, the mini-stutter/hitstun is a bit annoying.
as for the character, rather flexible in the same way max brass like you guard, get hit dash forward and you're all masked up and ready to ora your way through.

I really like this game, dropping the struggle with motion controls sped my play up big time, but Ranked is so dead I've lost all motivation to play it. I can't get my normalfag friends into it and my close friends haven't bought into the Switch yet.
It's a real shame, ARMS surprised me. I got more playtime in it than Splatoon 2.
Poison will be fun but the weapon system is still retarded. This game should've been pumping out weapons every week with new elemental combinations, like electric dragons or explosive umbrellas. Instead they've added 12, and it's hell to unlock them anyway.

Yes exactly this. It's surprising that they have added a new element with poison, are they ever going to round out the arms? You'd think every arm type would get one of every element. Will there just be a series of dumps week after week whenever they decide they're done making new characters?

the grind can be avoided by buying a hori's turbo controller or participating in the party crash event thing going on where you can rake in 2000 coins in hopefully under two days and by the time you're raking this coins you're raking in badges to rake in more coins.
ever since they added badges, the game is a lot easier to get coins

The hori controller has no nfc, no motion controls.
But it has the turbo button, you use the turbo button to keep playing 2v2 volleyball with double helixes (with all 6 guardians as arms) as the cpu and keep the switch hot for a day or two. After that you should have somewhere around the tens of thousands of coins.

I've never seen an event. Are they becoming more common? How do they work?
The grind's only half the trouble anyway. I grinded out heaps in training 1v1 just spamming Master Mummy grabs (2 coins for a 10 second round, pain in the ass though), and I still got fucked on the ARM Getter.
Ideally the system would've been more like what you'd see in a racing game - browse a selection of weapons, buy one you want, then experiment with how it works on different characters.
Instead you're wasting time playing a game of Break The Targets and hoping not to get another duplicate.
Ultimately, I feel like ARMS could have learned a lot more from Splatoon. A constant drip-feed of small updates with an occasional big update, and a bunch of themed events to draw players back in.
I really enjoy the ARMS Getter but it feels more like a method to get coins than the end result.

It is impossible to spend real money in the game, other than purchasing the game itself you are not able to spend any real money on the game in any way. I'm not familiar with candy crush but you get a different allotment of lives depending on the difficulty you choose. The in game currency you get you must spend if you want a continue. There is no waiting whatsoever that must be done for any part of the game, either you play it or you don't.

Running through GP to get a feel for Misango. Found out you can put the mask on by holding guard until it makes a pillar, then moving into the pillar. Safer and more versatile than charging up, but you can't make a pillar too close to a wall, so you're vulnerable to grabs.
Poison's pretty shitty. I like having a new element but making all three new weapons poison and saddling Misango with them is overkill. Scorpio could've been Fire or Explosive, at least. Electric or Ice would've been really good for a surprise attack too, but Fire would still be thematically appropriate.

The biggest irony is, the ARMS dev team and the Splatoon dev team both work on the same floor/work space of Nintendo and think an interview mentioned they get feedback from one another.
Is is hard to top what Splatoon does with weekly drip feed of weapon content and other "keep the player coming back for something new" game features that Splatoon has (Splatfests/Salmon Run events at specific times, clothing orders that can only be picked up the next day). Then again Splatoon was made by members of the Animal Crossing team which already very good at keeping the player coming back each day. It's no wonder why they added the Splatfest like Party Crash mode (which is more akin to Smash Wii/3DS themed online battle events).
