>NATO is doing shit with CSAT on Altis, training them and trying to make them not shit at war and humanitarian actions
>CSAT gets good in the former, worse in the latter
>game starts with you being there at that point, you teach 'em how to shoot and clear an AO. You go on to witness CSAT abusing prisoners, but NATO higher ups force you to ignore it when you try to arrest them.
Flash forward a few weeks/months
>Middle east conflict rising, nobody gives a shit about Altis anymore
>NATO slowly pulling out, couple squads of guys waiting in rusting outposts for their turn to leave
>Altis military decides for some reason to try and wipe out all NATO forces on Altus and Stratis, hitting the outposts with tech NATO can't counter with half-decommissioned MRAPs
>You do a couple of insurgent-style ops to strike back and gather survivors to get off Stratus and get back to "mainland" Altus
>Everyone gets their shit kicked in on the boatride by AAF aircraft
>wash up on the beach of Altis
>Join the insurgency that's grown
I'm still in the middle of my playthrough, but that's the story so far.
