>Playing games on consoles
<You're stuck with whatever you get, controls are limited to whatever the console is compatible with, updates can only make the games "better"
>Playing games on PC
<Limited content and customization, controls are limited to your driver setup, any update to anything (Not just the game) has a chance of breaking the game for majority of it's userbase
>Playing games on console through emulation
<Limited content and customization with a concrete product, controls are limited to your driver setup, any updates will only effect emulator (All or nothing)
There is nothing superior about PC gaming when a problem could be 1 of 100 different things. It's much better than console gaming, however, due to how you can "optimize" the game (To an extent), but it's still too much of a pain in the ass because you spend more time trying to figure out why a game isn't working than you would actually playing a game. That is why I have come to the conclusion that playing console games through an emulator is the best form of gaming because you can "optimize" the games beyond what the original system was capable of, and it's an all or nothing approach that results in the "Game not working" problem being extended to "All the games are not working" instead of "These games only work on Sundays, these games only work when it rains outside, and these games only work when you call them on the phone, bring them flowers, and know which side of your computer you're suppose to scratch."
Long story short, reinstalled Windows, and I'm having a "fun time" reinstalling all of my PC games. How was your day?
