It's pretty alright, an LG G6 which just came out this year. It's kinda OK on power so it can play 1440p 60fps video real easy. Apparently it's also got a Dolby HDR12 screen but there's no fucking apps that actually support the expanded color space as far as I can tell. I'm watching the USFIV footage from Canada Cup, and I'm surprised at how aggressive the meta is. Obviously everyone knows about Sleep Fighter IV, but I think absence made the heart grow fonder with this game, especially given the two unfilmed years of tech all the diehards have developed since SFV's release. The top 8 had a bunch of characters, most of whom were very aggressive and did lots of damage (and most of whom had low health, so I suppose that's part of it). I don't think I saw any 1f links, and there didn't seem to be any plinking either.
On the other hand, I'd forgotten how much I hated seeing Space Opera Symphony just fucking ignore damage scaling, Galactic Tornado combo into itself in the corner, and hearing the squeak of Fuerte's boots after a million command runs. Poongko's Seth is still a treat to watch (and his Fuerte is pretty hilarious since all he does is loop command run > s.HP even though it's awful damage) but I do kind of sigh every time the majority of the character select screen is ignored in favour of the degenerate top tiers.
The stupid whore on commentary almost ruined the whole thing, though. Like, even by a woman's standards this bitch is one of the dumbest motherfuckers I've ever heard and she talks like a nigger to boot. I'm honestly suspicious someone hired her to sit in the commentary booth and shit the things up so people wouldn't like USFIV as much.

Well, VF is a different game so of course you'll do much different things there, but her moveset (except for the counters which she doesn't have in VF but needs to have in DoA because it's the whole gimmick) is copied 1for1 from VF5FS. Keep in mind though that her moveset is slightly different in the earlier games, the first revision of VF5 which is VF5R changed up a whole lot, it might as well be called VF6 when it comes to all the changes, one of the changes is that all movesets were changed at least slightly and in some cases even drastically. VF5 vanilla is closer to VF4 and its revisions than it is to its own revisions.

Nah, Namco tried to pull a Rashid with Shaheen by making him a heroic Mudslime Rapefugee in his "ending," but it flopped for a few reasons. snk is marginal compared to what they used to albeit they never had particularly good quality control and more than half of the kof games are kusoge.
arcsys is pretty contentious and is either better or worse depending on who you ask. most of the changes from old gg to xrd follow the same reasoning as the harada quote and xrd has far less broken shit than the xx series even if elphelt is fucking absurd.
(((bamco))) are also highly contentious. tekken 7 has been pretty controversial around here but it's worth remembering that tt2 had an online pass so it's not exactly like their business model was ever not bullshit.
for my money, frenchbread is one of the few companies that i confidently say is better at making games than they were 10 years ago.

The cast of charactersfunctions is the biggest problem for me. I wasn't happy with Vega getting turned into a motion character, but most non-shoto players lost their main entirely and had to choose between revampedbutchered versions of other characters they didn't care for as much or one of the unlikable and strange new crop of losers. Pretty much only the Karin people were happy.
The online experience in the beginning had to have lead to the sharp drop in the playerbase because of how awful it was. I could barely reach the end of five ranked matches an hour in the beginning. It took an eternity to find an opponent, and then if you won they quit most of the time. I was fortunate enough to play (and of course lose to) MenaRD's Birdie in the beginning, but that's all I ever had in terms of strong opponents.
I've only gone to a few offline events, and I've enjoyed playing Super Turbo more at all of them. The walk to the SF5 pool is an unpleasant one.

For me it's the opposite. Besides Elisabeth, after XIV release, I don't really feel like playing XIII again compared to older KOF games like '98, 2002 and even XI. Yeah, some characters like Chin, Maxima and Mai feel a little "gutted" but for me the biggest problem of XIV is having XIII as its "base". Although (thankfully) they did "bring back" moves for characters like Kensou and Clark, they could have worked more on those three that I mentioned. Chin even lost his stance and moves but I still like more his old style with the laydown stance and zoning bottle. Maxima is a shell of his former self.

I'm far for what could call an "Alpha player" but what I liked about Karin was her rekkas and Geese-like counter moves and in SFV she only has rekkas during V-Trigger and not one counter move. I had high expectations for Ibuki but then they changed her so much she might as well be a new character for Season2. I would say Mika fans were happy because she was pretty shit in Alpha3 and they can mod the old super animation back
