>perfect dark
>starts out being a competent FPS with stealth elements
>gets more fun as you progress and unlock stuff
<ending gives up trying and goes full ayy lmao
<you get given one of the best guns in the game and approximately 20 seconds later it's taken from you in a lazy "rocks fall you all die" plot twist cutscene
<all the skills you honed up to that point are thrown out the window
<last few levels are an endless slog through repetitive corridors with no cover and no lights
<the second to last level is literally two mirrored halves to pad it out longer
<solid-feeling guns replaced with spray and pray crap that looks like it came from a turok game
<enemies replaced with generic brown smudge gremlins that have pathetically dumb AI and don't know how to use their own guns, even when the lowest tier multiplayer bots have no problem with them
<bad AI is compensated for with mario kart tier rubberbanding
<untargetable weak points, aimbot night vision and the ability to snipe you from a mile away with the chaingun like it's doom 2 still don't make this part challenging, just exasperating
<final boss is a ruse gimmick where you're supposed to ignore the big guy and shoot at a wall instead
<level that would have given the story some closure was cut from the final game
Shouldn't have been released in the state it was, tbh.
