Thematically speaking, I think the reason for Layla to exist is to show the contrary to Yukime's existence. The White LRIG literally did everything in her own power to find some joy living as a human being but in the end the routine of the daily literally killed her. On the other hand, Layla seems like the natural contraposition to the White LRIG as shown in this episode it seems like Layla experienced iterations in Lostorage Selector System which would explain why she is really strong since the more iterations, the more power you get from it as with Piruluk. Also by her design and her behaviour she clings to life through wixoss batoru and there is nothing more. You can tell living a world without batoru is worse than dead for such character and I bet she will find peace when she dies in a batoru.

Well either way Conflated isn't really worth saving, the best thing that can happen is that it doesn't ruin the characters. This is why I think that it should play it as safe as possible.
If they attempt another series they really need to think through the story, characters and motivations. Unless they are prepared to do that let's hope they just leave it at Conflated. Conflated hasn't as such ruined any character (except maybe Aki depending on your outlook) although it is "fleshing out" the lore in a very unsatisfactory way. If it goes on further we might see something truly terrible happen.
I do share the hope for the TCG though. Since the TCG hasn't got much of a chance to ruin anything, putting aside the flavor text which very well might, and it is a lot of fun. Would say that I want to see it become more unique as a TCG though.

It allows you to be very aggressive with play style since you don't need to concern yourself with the grow cost. Additionally with how powerful the L4s are there is much less reason to go L5 in the first place, giving you an extra White slot so you can use ARTS / Keys more aggressively too since you have more of them. So it should be making the game faster. Would be interesting to see what the turns per match are in key selection and pre-key selection.
The real problem with L5 is of course that, like before, they need a very powerful ability or SIGNI to make them worth it.

There is no reason why they need to keep that pattern. It could very well be that it'll be another Spinner style L5 that completely ignores the grow condition or some fusion L5 like Tama/Iona Mayu is. What arrived was some NOS Infected and Spread BDs and the DVD of Destructed. This means that they are sealed and complete. The Infected BD does show some signs of damage, the deck box is slightly yellowed and the tape holding the box together has become sticky. The two Spread BDs were in mint condition apart from some surface scratches gained during transit. I paid under 3000 JPY each for these, so I'm not going to complain.
They are really nice things to own, have a lot more extras than the Incited BDs and are just higher quality in general. I bought them because most of what is contained as extras has never been scanned and I wanted the complete OST in FLAC. One of the extras included with the Selector BDs is a cast and staff commentary track for each episode. I'm going to try and rip them as I don't think they have been uploaded before.
The doujin is an artbook of red LRIGs and SIGNI.

The wixoss anime puts on the undertones quite heavily and the side content is pretty gay so naturally since both are associated with eachother there is precedent to interpret the undertones as an actual posibility, especially with what Destructed did. It seems to not go all the way because they're slightly more hesitant to do something explicite for their main advertising that everyone is going to see.

This is near enough how I feel about it. As a sequel to Incited it was alright, as a continuation of Selector it didn't stand up. I don't think the writing was particularly bad. There were some really nice scenes of the characters interacting together. It was the overall scenario and pacing that fucked things up. Some of the episodes just felt utterly facile. What was the point in bringing Akira back? Kiyoi wasted two episodes dealing with something that had no overall impact on the ending of the series. Then there was an entire episode dedicated to the retarded set up for Suzuko and Ruuko to meet. All this is after the first two episodes were spent on content that had already been shown.
Why was the first episode even released as an OVA? It retailed for 6000 JPY and included a card set. This is around the same price as the first Incited BD which included two episodes and an entire deck. Both the OVA and the cards are now completely useless as the OVA will be released on BD and none of the cards can be used in the new rotation.
The other major issue with the pacing is that it left no time for any sort of character development or progression. The the three main characters can be summed up in a few words.

Carnival was a disappointing and one dimensional villain. Leyla was sort of set up to be an anti-hero, this never went any where though.
Okada's character writing in Selector created rich and interesting characters with complex motivations. Even in Incited Suzuko and the others were far from flat. None of their prevailing issues were ever touched upon in Conflated.
Overall it just felt like a mess.

Ruu/Hitoe/Yuzuki probably were a big part of why conflated was bad, they were static because it was probably considered a bad idea to mess with their characters.
Akira/Remember ironically did have places for their characters to go to, Remember never really had much time too show her personality in peeping analyze and Akira's personality is naturally unstable.
The incited cast(featuring Kiyoi) had character arcs, they were rushed due how cramped conflated was.
Layla had around one change in character in the whole series, which was a reveal in motivations; she never progressed past in terms of character and was basically the same character was episode 1-12.

The Selector and Lostorage characters were used horribly and too many characters with no screentime on top of peeping analyze to boot. There was no way this show was gonna be good. I sensed this as soon as I saw the promo art with all the characters including Akira (since she had no reason to continue dueling at this point) but I hoped it would turn out better. Even as a sequel to Lostorage I thought this was bad since it dropped the good personal story for a broad one with no real focus.
It started poorly as well. Very similar problems to Yuuki Yuuna's second season in that it wastes time on stuff we already know instead of getting right to the new material.

Was going to say this seems really op but the lack of coin generating speed puts it in line, probably. Anne key is still only 1 coin though. But then again, other than the Anne and Eternal keys, the keys don't come with powerful constants and most useful abilities require exceed. If they do add new useful keys the Ril key can be used to gain a coin. Would not trade in ARTS for keys but it might be worth making a gimmik deck to see how far you can take it.
It is also really low on the ener consumption, 1/turn.
What could the reverse be..? Something servant related maybe, could fit with what happened during the final episode.
It will die to two stop. Not that that's really an issue unless it becomes prevalent in the meta.

Considering nearly all things WIXOSS have logos, it seems strange for the fifth anniversary to not have one;
and there would be no reason to hide the logo for it, unlike an a fifth season.

I'm not sure what they will do with SIGNI. There isn't really much difference with how she grows except that she's rather crippled if she goes first. You don't lose out in the end though because it's based on how many times you've used the ability and not her current level but it still puts you behind in comparison to normal play.
Theres no evidence for this but it feels odd to have an LRIG relying so heavily on your opponent growing having unique SIGNI. That goes for her being colourless as well. It seems more appropriate taht she would be using servants as her core strategy and have something based around them once she reaches L5 I'm assuming that the reverse is an L5, they might even do something like printing it as L∞. Her getting a few unique origin spirits dosen't seem out of the realms of possbility though.

The reason why the Spinner never got any SIGNI is because she didn't need them.
It doesn't seem that weird for her to get SIGNI, being a gimmick doesn't stop your from getting SIGNI.
