Shinsekai covers the life of a few kids over about 10 years and with three major time skips, at the start of the second period just after the first skip, Maria and… Saki if I remember are in a relationship for some reason. Some shit goes down and one of the kids goes missing, so the others set off to search for him. Another time skip and a red haired kid shows up and is the main bad guy for that arc, having power she doesn't know how to use. And yes, it's the kid of Maria and the other kid. I made a lot of progress on Shadow Hearts last night.
First I fought this…thing with Alice out of my party so I had to rely on items for healing, then after a bunch of events I fought Li L, a boss teased a while before.
She was pretty challenging even with Alice in my party because on top of having 2 forms and loving to spam paralysis, the game's events make you think that her element is water, but it's actually darkness.
