Amúgy nem, nem hiszem. Ha valami meg fogja ölni, a 8chan lesz az. A 4chan mellett léteztek alternatív képtáblák, főleg az olyan témák miatt amiknek nem volt külön táblája ott. Így ha a 4chan maga végleg elrákosodott is, ezeken a külső oldalakon a képtábla-kultúra tovább létezhetett.
Most viszont hogy van 8chan és ismert is, mindenki itt nyitogatja a táblákat, és ha esetleg valamelyik alternatív képtáblának gondja támad az üzemeltetéssel, a felhasználói egyszerűen ide jöhetnek. evvel még önmagában nem lenne gond, csak a 8chanon létrejött egy saját kultúra, ami sajnos a legnépszerűbb táblának köszönhetően erősen politikaira sikerült, ráadásul olyanra, amilyennel értelmes ember nem szívesen azonosulna, így nagyon sok anon-alapanyagot elidegenítve magától. Ha mindez nem lenne elég, többször is bebizonyosodott hogy nem bírják az ellenvéleményt, és a nézeteikkel nem egyező táblákat megpróbálják ellehetetleníteni.
Ilyen szempontból lehet mégis a 4chan ölte meg, elvégre ott született meg és onnan lettek a felhasználói ide zavarva, de az igazi tettes szerintem /pol/.
