Dude you should setup one of your cores to run the Windows kernel and then another core to run a Linux kernel, at the same time.

install linux first, wipe out all the partitions, leave space for windows, install windows second into the free space left from the linux installation (which will wipe the bootloader out), and then go back and re-install the bootloader, which should then detect both windows and linux.

this is stupid though if your friend doesn't care about gaymes. just install spyware 10 in a virtual machine if he wants it around still.

Windows likes to fuck up your bootloader. I've always installed windows first, add a partition (from within windows, otherwise you'll fuck things up) then install loonix on the partition.

But yeah, just nuke wangblows, set up virtualbox if he needs it.

As much as people love dualboot I always found it annoying because you find yourself wanting to switch programs and having to go back to bios every time which kills multi-tasking.

A better way is just build your battlestation in a way that fits a thinkpad in reach along side your gaymen rig. This way you have Linux and windows on two different screen not interfering with each other. You can then setup a shared network folder or SCP between the two for when you need it. In my case I'm running a T420 with mint debian and a shared external hard drive between it + pc. Feels more efficient than when I was running dual boot. Costs more since you obviously have to invest in the extra hardware but it's worth it and thinkpads are amazing for when you need to travel anyways.
