Ever heard of LibreOffice ? It's an office suite like the programs that you talked about, "(with Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc... That are so popular)", you can look it up if you want to. Also, today there are plenty of games made for Linux (Terraria, Factorio, OpenTTD, Wesnoth, etc) and the rest are easily compatible trough Proton or Wine.
I run all of my games on Kubuntu with no problems. Also, I can update, install or uninstall all of my programs from one place rather than having an uninstaller for each app and having to manually update each app.
Not to mention that all Linux distros are open source, so you know exactly what you have on your computer. I get even better performance with Kubuntu (~780mb RAM usage while idling) while on Windows 10 I consume atleast ~3GB of RAM while idling.
Most Linux distros (except Gentoo, Arch Linux, Artix, Void Linux, etc) are pretty easy to use and are very functional while allowing for many customizations to the Desktop Enviroment and to the programs themselves.
