In terms of sheer knowledge, you are right: excluding fields where you otherwise have no way to actually put the skills you learn in practice (e.g. medicine), everything you can learn in college can also be learned outside of college, and with the vast amount of resources available nowadays, it's easier than ever.
Unfortunately, though, since they have successfully pushed the meme that college is almost mandatory, you're gonna have a much harder time landing a good job without a degree.
I'm not saying it's impossible, but, all other things considered equal, it's objectively harder.
