Because current AIs are too narrow to discern context and concepts for situational awareness and judgement. If it can't distinguish what's communicating with it like wherever it's a human or parrot (or if what is being said is intentional), then it's likely to also mistake sources of audio for events as well (like gunfire or screaming from a TV).
