I have a raspberry pi laying around and trying to put it to good use.
I want to create a VERY SIMPLE voice assistant that will have reposes to very simple questions in which I can write the scripts for the response in a high-level scripting language like bash or python. I want to be able to name the device how i choose (i'm thinking "Navi"). It does not need to support anything but English. I want it to have NO phoning home for STT, TTS, wordlists or processing and a very small range of responses. nothing fancy at all just I say a command -> it scrapes a webpage and reads me off the result. I also need to be able to stop the speech by telling it to shut up so it does not continue to talk once i have the info i need.
I was looking at Jasper/PocketSphinx/espeak but will this give me what i'm after or is there a better route for this?
also what would you recommend for voice hardware? I dont want to have to tongue-fuck the thing like Pajeet here: https://youtu.be/nfbc5-p6r7A?t=181
