Power, it's all about power. They understand that most of socio-political discourse has moved to technological platforms. This is the only reason for "women in tech", CoC's and so on, they need loyal people to further their interests in tech industry.

Same reason why there are so many in journalism, human resources, academia, advertisement, etc.
