Meh. The teaser is pretty banal - they wisely kept Spielburg’s fingerbang to under three seconds of screen time.
Normalfags have this awful habit of viewing things in a vacuum to determine quality as some hat-tip to being impartial. I’m not surprised they’d like this trailer at all.

It's doing worse than average for Youtube videos though. Normally, the number of likes is ~10% the number of views and the number of dislikes is infinitesimal, usually two orders of magnitude smaller than the number of likes or more. As of 20:30 EST, you have 1,300 dislikes to 28,000 likes (with ~240k views). So the number of likes is normal for a Youtube video, but the number of dislikes is about an order of magnitude higher. Most people are shit and have correspondingly shit taste, but not all hope is lost.

keep in mind, people can buy likes and views. Disney has more than enough money to buy both too. I'm actually looking forward to seeing this, but I feel like the smoke from TLJ will settle when disney gives star wars to someone who respects the universe and the time spent on it.

Oh, for sure, but you know guys, I cannot help but think of two questions that have quite honestly bummed me the fuck out.
What would Ol' Uncle Walt think of all that has happened to his beloved company that he poured his blood, sweat, and tears into, knowing his staunch hatred towards Socialism/Communism/Bolshevism (the very same kind of ideologies that a good number of people working for and controlling The Walt Disney Company have forced into all kinds of media they produce,) if he were alive today, and why, oh WHY didn't the company stay under the rightful control of Walt Disney's family?
I mean, we all know Walt is concurrently spinning in his grave like a fucking Beyblade, but I cannot help but wonder how things would have turned out if a supposedly FAMILY company stayed as a family company, without the buyouts and inevitable desecration of beloved IPs and brands they get their hands on.
Doesn't help the fact that Walt looks a lot like my own Grandfather (God rest his soul), so seeing Star Wars' decayed corpse parade around like Weekend at Bernie's if directed by David Lynch with regard for nothing more than quantity over quality just…
It's fucking depressing, dudes.

Thankfully, they are. …Even if they have been currently at the receiving end of Disney's faggotry when it comes to loaing major profits from the Disney-branded Star Wars sets they aren't selling so well, especialling when you take into consideration that they cannibalized the money meant for Bionicle G2's budget, hence why Bionicle is dead once again thanks to Disney.
So in more ways than one, considering I am a mocist as well? I have more and more reasons by the day to ==HATE== Disney/Lucasfilm.

Well Mr. Satan, I'd say they've sold out (or maybe the economy's just bad), as it's much more expensive to buy a smaller set than back then. Also, too many pop-culture themes. I've always wished they'd do a real war theme (WW2, Napoleonic Wars, etc.), but instead I have to rely on online sources.

it's a combo of a few factors
1. cost of living and materials go up

Kinda funny how a line like Star Wars that helped save Lego from bankruptcy is now a colossal detriment on their company, especially if you take their "Disney tax" into account. It's fairly easy to backpedal on something like a new beetus formula. You don't have to change any of your infrastructure since all your bottling plants are the same, you just need to go back to your old corn syrup formula and bring back the old labels. You lose some money making the switch, but you haven't had to risk any major assets doing so. It's more difficult to do that with films, because each individual production is a massive undertaking and an investment in and of itself. And like other anons have said, Kennedy doesn't seem to be in any mood to make this franchise good, or even profitable. By the time anyone on high decides that it might be time to switch things around it will be far too late.

This actually looks like a tolerable film, glad they are expierementing with things that aren't just "standard" star wars, this is a franchise in disney's hands and they'll be going in every direction of style of film throughout the next decade, you can find similar fuck-ups in the EU, this is because when you hand over a franchise to hundreds of different people who all have their own interpretations, you end up with a diverse array of different types of stories, whether they work or not, will be a hit or miss from time to time
Consider the last two books of the timothy zahn trilogy and you'll see even in old lore you had your share of fuck ups
Just be glad they are trying at this point, doesn't seem to be SJW'd up, and no, disney wont be turning your alt-right wet dreams into a reality with their movies, sorry faggots

What are you talking about, the Spaarti cylinders? The Noghri timeline with regards to when the Clone Wars happened? Both are relatively minor considering the prequels weren't out yet. And the Spaarti cylinders work in the old lore just fine, later works established that "flash growing" clones was faster but created inferior copies compared to the Kaminoan variety of accelerated natural growth.
>Just be glad they are trying at this point
[Citation Needed]. I see a brown borefest that shows as little of the main characters as possible so the audience forgets they're shitty actors, while showing just enough for anyone wearing rose-colored glasses to get a rush of nostalgia.
>doesn't seem to be SJW'd up
There's not enough trailer footage to make a definitive claim one way or the other, but considering the number of new stornk independent diverse cast members they've got plenty of opportunity to push an agenda. And if Kennedy's comments so far are to be believed, they're going to keep going for that angle until they run the studio into the ground.
>I should note the more REEEing and complaining they hear from the alt right is the more shoein diversity and mary sues you'll see in reaction to you

MY SIDES
>despite the steepest boxoffice profit decline in movie history
If you're talking about TLJ, that's because the movie had flaws, and it sucked, but if you're talking about SW as a whole, well that is plainly because of how many movies they are pumping out, and the fact that this is franchising something as spectacular as star wars will absolutely result in profit decline.. taking george lucas's name off of star wars results in deep neglect from alot of people, look at how "popular" the EU was and you'll realize star wars's popularity only goes so far out of lucas's shadow.
Don't need to bring up your shitty spammed tomatoes rating to me, you just went against your own bullshit by espousing I use buzzwords, and here you are using the same language and tactics as everyone else on this board's hugbox hivemind

>I see a brown borefest that shows as little of the main characters as possible so the audience forgets they're shitty actors, while showing just enough for anyone wearing rose-colored glasses to get a rush of nostalgia.
They show just as much dialogue in the trailer as any regular film's trailers, and since this is a action film, in particular a star wars film, thats what they are supposed to focus on, you're just cherry picking now
>they've got plenty of opportunity to push an agenda
Star wars was always peddling "political agendas" from leia's cameo as a do-all, independent feminist personality, to lando's inclusion into the films, the whole "we dont serve their kind here" in reference to the droids in the cantina is complete political commentary, and most of the films are devised against a totalitarian regime, namely, the problems with evil dictatorships. In reality, while you might blame disney and lucas for their political viewpoints, you do not better by supplying your crying that your own political view isn't being shoehorned itself into the films.
>Good. Normies hate this shit too if it's done blatantly enough.
It's not good, you are politicizing hollywood past the point of no return, declaring war on disney with star wars will just result in these directors and creative teams turning, like they did already, the empire, into a "white supremacist organization". and adding "bigenderneutralqueers, SHIMS or whatever" into that new aftermath book, you are your own worst enemies in this lashing out cherade, sure, you just want to burn disney to the ground, but in turn they will rape every single one of your beloved characters for your childishness in turn, so enjoy being on /sw/ shitting on every movie that comes out, you'll be here for every premiere, giving them the ammo they want to shit all over you

>EMPIRE makes peace with the Republic
Because they fucking lost and over the last years, with the singular exception of Thrawn himself, kept losing.
Admiral Palleon was smart and wise enough to see that victory was impossible and that the Remnant was bleeding men, material and power without doing any relevant damage to the Republic or making any permanent gains to their territories.
Keep in mind, you fucking faggot, that the Empire, as described in that same fucking book, once had more than 100.000 Imperial Star Destroyers and controlled hundreds of systems.
The Imperial Remnant under Palleon, however, had less than 300 ISD's and half a dozen systems.
Outside of a peace treaty with the New Republic , one that gave any planet or system the option of joining the Imperial Remnant peacefully, there was nothing left that could have been done.
Palleon did nothing wrong, actually securing the existance of his people and a future for white troopers.

I disagree that they'll never support Disney's business model. They often do support similar business models. They're relatively well off, respectable, and easier to manipulate than most wealthier groups; that's why marketers focus on them. They're similar to the old religious right in that regard: typically middle class and easily fleeced if one has the right approach.
Their affections do depend on the "morality" of the people involved as well as the media in question, and, unfortunately for Disney, they haven't yet discovered how to replace their employees with robots who perfectly conform with liberal propriety and morality, nor have they been able to square the "morality" angle with the grasping nature of Disney as a corporation. It's easier to appear moral when an enterprise involves only one or a few people.

It is indeed Explained. He is the goodest goy, next to Collider of course. Both of those are wretched apologists to the core.
Geeks & Gamers has publicly come out against SJWs and feminism (in entertainment at least), so he's dipped into that sphere as well, while SWT likes to make What If vids along Expanded Universe lines (and at least one on how he could have written TLJ better, complete with goofy photoshops). Eckhart's Ladder, meanwhile, is almost purely the vehicle/faction comparison and EU exploration guy with the smooth music. He also does some animation work, if I remember right.
Don't be silly enough to expect naming the Jew from any of them, telling you now.

Yes he does, disgustingly enough and on both Canon and Legends pages. In fact his videos are fucking everywhere, and since Wikia sold out to major corps and SW wiki is pretty Disney property now, its possible Explained is too. There's even one video which hasn't been updated yet where he jerks himself off about Snoke (this one was made before TLJ) and starts speculating on how he could be a being of pure force and possibly the greatest god-like foe in the history of the galaxy.

When people think of Han's blaster they picture the one with the big scope from A New Hope, but he only had that for one movie and maybe the holiday special but I can't remember exactly and then TFA as well for the nostalgia grabbing. The Disney wookieepedia article on Han's blaster wants you to believe that they're all exactly the same and that his ESB blaster was magically retrieved from Vader just in time for Return of the Jedi even though the props between movies are distinct from one another, but whatever. They want all of it to be interrelated regardless of what their eyes see.

No doubt, but the thing is these days you have to wonder to what degree people will believe their own bullshit. When a group or institution stays in power long enough they inevitably start to develop arrogance, decadence, and a certain degree of hubris. As a result, what before may have been no more than propaganda to project the appearance of strength is now taken to be gospel truth. You can see this in the US military in a lot of places, I wouldn't be surprised if at least some people took the "premature launch" crap at face value instead of acknowledging the uncomfortable truth that maybe their progressive agenda isn't the hot shit they thought it was. The practically-minded marketing heads and the like probably don't think this of course, but I wouldn't be surprised if there existed those that did.

The thing that gets me about this the most is not a single aspect looks, feels or sounds like Star Wars. The music is completely unfamiliar except for that final "xD it's so iconic!" second of John Williams score, the setpieces look like generic grungy sci-fi those that aren't blatantly stolen from Captain America anyways, even the shit that's already established in-universe looks terrible. The Falcon looks like it was designed by someone who only just learned what grebules were and wants to shove them everywhere to display his great design prowess, the landspeeder looks like something out of 5th element instead of Star Wars, they even managed to fuck up the TIE fighters with that retarded red light and those idiot not-bombers.
This trainwreck is going to be a wonderfully terrible sight to behold. The few fans that are left after TLJ will be gone for good, now that two of the original characters have been horribly mangled.
>inb4 there are no fans left
There are still a few holding out. I know a guy that hated both TFA and TLJ, but is hopeful for Solo because he thought Rogue One was good, so he's got this formula in his head that Disney can't do sequels for shit, but the anthologies are okay.

There was a Moloch in the old EU too, but he was a Shi'ido, and names of demons were used as their lore names in guidebooks as far back as their inception. And its kind of fitting since Shi'ido's are shapeshifters and all of their most notable members were con artists, spies, assassins, thieves, deceivers and skilled manipulators (and even siths) off-world. The ones who stayed on their homeworld were far less corrupt though. But overall, the naming was fitting. This new Moloch though just feels… off.

Hollywood has already been politicized though, decades ago in fact. More people becoming aware of this, and thus resentful of it, isn't a victory per se, but dragging the rot into the light for all to see will set the stage for future victories.

That's probably why Rogue One was the least divisive at the time. If it had been a movie about a band of rebels doing their part in the war rather than being a "super important" key element to the OT, then it probably would have even been praised here, but instead it was just another nostalgia wankfest devoid of originality and which copied elements from pre-existing EU material and made them less endearing and memorable. And the fucking cameos were so forced one could gag on them. Its the same problem Rebels had. Instead of trying to do its own thing, it tried to hard to tie into the OT and CW instead of standing on its own two legs and creating completely new things for itself while only using old terminology from the EU/lore for the sake of making sure it felt like it was still the same universe, only with a new set of characters, but instead it relied to heavily on nostalgia and made the galaxy seem smaller than it needed to be. Fucking space Aladdin goes into the nexus of time itself and everything there is just quotes from the OT, as if nothing else ever happened in the entire history of the galaxy, ever.

The old EU handled the Holiday Special being canon just fine. It was just broad strokes (Chewbacca has a family, he comes from this planet and it's like this) and made the names nicknames akin to "Chewy". I think also they realize VIII left no hooks for IX. Rian was even worse at this than JJ. IX has nothing to recommend it, except timidly saying Yoda is in it, and maybe we’ll put Mara Jade in it. There’s no villain, no hero, no characters we’re invested in. There’s no friendship between the three leads. Rey and Poe never even met until the end of the second movie.

Only that makes this smug fembot worse is the fact that she sounds and fights like that Steven Universe character.

And they had some interesting concepts with it beyond just metaphor for whatever equality campaign was in at the moment. The "Droid Equality Foundation" was created to get rid of droids by making the public view them as a threat.
Droid sapience was actually pretty well handled in the EU. Most droids were just appliances with wheels and the most common result of no memory wipes wasn't sapience but general flawed behavior. This ranged from good with drawbacks (a droid is overly attuned to a specific user and while better for them not really useful for anyone else), harmless (a droid has some "personality" quirk that doesn't really hurt it like a protocol droid that has an unusual fondness for certain words) to things that would get a droid scrapped if they couldn't be fixed by a mind wipe (Wedge had a protocol droid that screamed randomly and inappropriately).

The shills are working over time to put TLJ in the lead and it WAS in the lead (practically at the moment the article was posted) until a little while ago, now ESB is taking the lead after more people started bringing attention to this bullshit. Disney is clearly is pushing hard for this pile of shit. But on the bright side, they pushed so many shills and employees to vote for TLJ that they hardly voted for TFA. The large amount of votes ROTS is kind of proof to a suspicion I've been having about a lot of nu-fans and TLJ fans having grown up mainly on ROTS and seeing the series as some super grimdark tale. Further proof of this can be seen with all the new editors on Wookieepedia who all post ROTS as their favorite film and the first one they ever watched as children (or the only SW film they ever watched before TFA according to some user pages).

Its a lot easier to form angry mobs online these days thanks to twitter. You can probably even get someone assaulted as long as you have popularity and post a picture of the person you hate on twitter. Disney being a huge corp and basically the owner of countless employees helps too. Also I love how the news article calls SW a "huge media" but only references the "4" movies. The movies are literally all that exists about SW to these shits and the new Battlefront trash yet they still try to pretend its huge and geeky despite only thinking the films exist. They keep trying to diss old EU media and the like as unpopular and not something the masses are interested in, yet Marvel keeps bringing in references and countless obscure elements from the comics into the films for both casual tards and hardcore fans to enjoy and its doing better than SW because of it. And don't you dare say normalfags knew all about Arnim Zola, some shits actually thought he was original to the films.

I was going through this trailer soundlessly to harvest any funny-looking still frames. I've noticed a few things:
1.) The body language on this Alden Solo guy is just off. He goes from very obviously trying to ape Harrison Ford with the wide cowboy stance, to sassy 10-year old kid when he's bluffing. Might just be my interpretation.
2.)Woody Harrelson seems fine, so he'll probably die then.
3.)I just don't like Alden's face. He looks more like a pouting prince than a smuggler who gets shit done for the money.
4.)The villians (I assume) have no body language at all. They just took a pose at the start of the scene and freeze in it. Combined with the masks, there is no character on display whatsoever.

Look at Ben's reaction. He knows Han is bullshitting but in the end he has no choice than to pay him to get them out of Tatooine.

Oh please. He looks like that all the time at everyone. This is not a reason to claim Han Solo - the man who shot at Darth Vader and took a saing at Lando in a jail cell aurrounded by his guards - is some kind of bullshit artist.
Remember how happy Han was to stall the guards, how he was terrible at lying and happy when he finally shot the control panel?
You fucking retards ruined a character based on one half second look by Alec Guinness. There is NO instance in the OT where Han bullshits people.

And how is Han bullshitting? He has a fast ship and is a competent pilot. Is your claim he’s some idiot with a slow craft?

Han needs a job as soon as possible because Jabbas's men are after him. He has to convince the first person who needs transport that he's the best guy for the job. If Kenobi and Luke weren't followed by the group of stormtroopers then he would've told Han to fuck off.

I agree fellow anonymous poster, true fans like us know that Han Solo was nothing more than a pathetic and talentless loser, who never did anything impressive in his entire life, he was a straight white male after all. And it certainly doesn't matter what Lucas, creator, writer and director of the original Star Wars, has to say about this matter; one second of Alec Guinnis looking at somebody kinda funny is all the evidence we could ever need.
In fact, forget about these stupid, dusty old movies altogether and watch Solo: A Star Wars Story, coming soon to YOUR cinema, and see Han Solo how he always should have been: humiliated by some smug bitch and upstaged by an uppity nigger every other scene.
And make sure to bring your family and friends!

It didn't have to be this way… He's even more of a loser now in the new novels and comics. What a tragedy.

Being a bullshitter at times doesn't make him a bad character, it makes him interesting because he does it for a reason. Also I never said that the Falcon was the slowest ship in the galaxy.

Okay, let’s go through this:
1)Han has a fast ship
2)Han is a good pilot
3)Obi Wan asks him if his ship is fast
4)Han says yes and relays past feats
5)Obi Wan smirks like he always does
6)Somehow Han is now a bullshit artist and always trying to talk his way out of situations instead of shooting people, punching them, or chasing after a squad of storm troopers on a battle station.

Yeah, it's not like he was capable of such incredible feats like successfully navigating an asteroid field despite the odds against him doing so being 3,720 to 1.

Fucking hell faggot, why are you so autistically adamant about Han lying about the kessel run, when practically nothing suggests he did it? In fact, where does all this shit come from in the first place? I've never heard it before while talking to other fans about this scene, most are just confused about him using parsecs and think George just made a mistake because he didn't know shit about space travel or something.
You even misrepresent his whole character and personality here. He was a smuggler and thus a criminal, yeah, but nowhere in the movies is he shown to be a con artist or a lyer; on the contrary, he is depicted as being pretty straight forward in everything he does and isn't afraid to speak his mind.
Is all this some new disney shit they put into one of their books or comics I don't read, to retroactively make Han more like their Soylo version, so the masses won't be completely turned off when they watch the movie?
>wait a minute, I don't remember Han Solo being some pathetic beta bitch
>wasn't he some kind of badass space cowboy with one of the fastest ships in the galaxy?
>oh shit, according to this wiki article the newest comics reveal that he didn't do anything noteworthy and just lied about a bunch of shit
>well it must be true then

well lad, prepare your anus.
pic1 is my ultimate autist collection of the original trilogy. it's a vhs set of the unaltered forms, and comes with some lovely extras, in specific regards to pic2, a collection of the final drafts (this means the version that was ultimately filmed, the only differences would be any ad-libbing or absolute last-minute day of filming changes.)
in the final pic (pic3), you'll see in which a few of us have been trying to get through your soylent head.
tl;dr IT'S IN THE FUCKING SCRIPT YOU INFINITE NIGGER.

oh, those. well, if you can find a site with the 06 dvds, then yes. i've got them saved on my external drive, if you want i'll see if i can throw them up on a website somewhere. other than that, look up the silver screen print of episode 4, it's a 1080p conversion of the film reels. supposedly the team that made it is acquiring empire and jedi reels.

That could be what Obi-Wan was thinking rather than what Han was doing. Has George Lucas ever said that Han didn't make the Kessel run in less than 12 parsecs? It's such a famous line that you would have thought he would have said something about it if it was a lie.
