Not my point. It's all about characterization. Women in the imperial military were rare, the Galactic Empire was consistently depicted a conservative state, with a human dominated military, basically composed by the male sex, just like any normal military. Not that was impossible to women serve, but that was unlikely, even more as a TIE pilot, which isn't that lowly position that many think.

Daala was an exception, an aberration. Juno Eclipse was created for a video game who fucked up the lore by shoehorning lots and lots of inconsistencies (Starkiller founding the Alliance, rebel leaders schedule to be executed in the DS in front of the Emperor himself, a jedi general with the Alliance, etc, etc). I doubt the game writers took time to read previous material

I'd agree with Kennedy if that was the case. "Sympathetic" takes on the Empire usually just devolve into Imperial wanking and Rebel bashing retcons because there is no real way to make the Empire look good otherwise. And knowing the nips and their ass-kissing ways, it'd be even stupider than usual.

Imperial uniforms may look cool but if you want cool-looking soldiers to root for, Lucas already gave people clone troopers for that exact purpose.

Not that hard to do it, actually. Just have them hunting down pirates and raiders, seeing the Rebels as crypto-Seperatists, and having their heads on straight like Pellaeon. Add some atrocities by both sides, and you've got the typical nastiness of a civil war.

Honestly, though, I wouldn't mind even some of the over-the-top evil Imperials having moments of humanity for their men or for their families. Things like a cold and hard commander softening slightly on hearing why one of his young TIE pilots was overeager in engaging the enemy, that his family member died in a Rebel strike on a shipyard for instance. Would still punish him, of course, but wouldn't tarnish his career for it. Or perhaps a Moff who pitilessly ordered a Base Delta Zero operation also has a large happy picture of him with his wife and children on his desk. Contrast, and all that.
