So how about the Dr. Aphra comics?

Diverging from Dr. Aphra working for Vader, the dumb thot has begun her independent work and has her own comic series now.

I think the comic is pretty good, and in the right place.

**I think it's a pretty interesting story they've got going.

Not gonna lie, Aphra is not as smart as she thinks. I'm waiting for the final showdown with 000 putting Aphra in her rightful place.

They've recently returned Evezan and Ponda, so the story is starting to get heated up.**

How can you even defend this trash? She was a blight on the Vader comic and made things worse with her appearance. Her comic is nothing but pure Reddit cringe. She's not going to fail, she's going to come out on top with her shity Imperial girlfriend. Regardless, aside from the terrible dialogue, this, can bodies everything wrong with Disney's Star Wars. The only redeeming element about this piece of shit is it's art.

I understand that it's a very forced diversity and written differently to the other Star Wars comics of the present and the past.

There's certainly some things hamfisted in, as you mentioned the terrible romance. They're certainly toying with more progressive content there, and I find that questionable.

However, I'd like to be more optimistic especially as it is a more unique formula than the others (Vader being Vader, Leia being princess, Original cast ducking around between movies).

Instead of characters being protected by trilogy plot armor, there's obviously more to work with and more things to go wrong.

It can certainly toy with more bizarre concepts (archaeology, spelunking, artifacts) that the other comics can't.

I mean to say, it's less predictable. The art direction is fine.

I appreciate the perspective that it's cringe inducing, but that cringiness is building onto me with how the characters are developing.

I kind of wish I could enjoy this ironicallyfor it's shittyness, like the Muslim Miss Marvel Comics, but Aphra is just so damn unlikable. It's like I'm reading American Chavez in space. I can tolerate and even enjoy a shity comic as long as the protagonist isn't a total cunt, but Aphra really takes the fucking cake. If she wasn't such a writer's pet, Vader would have killed her off like he was supposed to. Fuck her quips. If they wanted a shitty successful comic that was a spinoff of the Vader one, then they should have made a comic about the two killer droids. At least they have personalities. Although I wish their designs were more creative, like C-3PX.

Really, the two Droids are the characters you should focus on. Aphra is just their human slave at this moment.

Personally, I think the writer has some sort of obsession with Aphra.

They're hamfisting some strange relationships, like her obsession with Vader but then it goes off the charts when with 0-0-0 in the later story arcs.

Take it with a grain of salt. Reading it won't do you any more harm.

Almost every issue of Aphra has BT1 and 0-0-0. That's what I'm there for.

2-6, 9, 11, 12, 14, 19, 20 and onwards are good. I'll go through the brief below.

Issue 2-6 her dad revokes her college degree and she has to convince him to restore it.

Screaming citadel release is meh.

Issue 9, 000 is tired of being programmed to obey Aphra, so he messages Vader to come to their location.

Issue 11 and 12 Vader arrives and BT and 000 blackmail Aphra into freeing them, then leaves her.

Issue 14, and onward 000 abuses Aphra and forces her to work for him and BT.

Issue 19 is more lesbian shit, but 000 abuses her some more before her lover rescues her.

20 and onward her lesbian imperial girlfriend imprisons her. Begins her plot to escape.

22 Aphra gets raped by mindprobing tentacles. 000 realizes his memory has been encrypted by Aphra and is pissed.

24 her lesbian lover tells Vader, who is pissed. 000 also arrives, pissed. The new faggot Tam Posla arrives. Everyone is here to push Aphra's shit in for encrypting their files and being a cunt.

25 Vader arrives absolutely furious.

Aphra rapes her girlfriend with mind erasing tentacles. Vader kills BT and arrests her lover.

Posla returns, even more pissed and here to push her shit in.

000 kills Posla, abuses Aphra for the shit she's done, then enslaves her.

Evazan removes his disguise, kidnaps 000 and Aphra, and inserts a proximity bomb inside both of them.

26 and onwards, 000 wakes up absolutely pissed BT is gone and his memories are still encrypted, immediately attempts to kill Aphra.

Forced to stay close to each other and help each other at all times, they attempt to remove the bombs and stop Evazan before they both die.

I know Disney isn't well received and I admire your faith and loyalty to the pre-Disney Star Wars, a comic book isn't going to harm you as much as any book or newspaper will.

The EU exists in our hearts and minds with far better reputation, but this isn't to say the new Canon Star Wars is entirely flawed. With obvious cases aside, they are bringing back many key characters.

Fact is, with the eternal mouse and LucasFilm jettisoning the EU like a bulimic jettisoning food after thanksgiving dinner, no character disney ports from the true EU will ever be the same.

Especially since the locations, events,and personal histories that make said character what they are no longer exist.
