Is shit. Knights of the Old Republic, the comics, the books, the MMO, everything from that time period is awful. The technology makes no sense, the factions are all just ripoffs of stuff from the OT and Prequels. Despite taking place thousands of years before the main series, it doesn't contain a single original concept or idea.
It's no surprise that J.J. Abrams favorite Star Wars content is the Old Republic stuff, it matches The Farce Awakens perfectly. If you're an Old Republic fan, you should feel right at home in Disney War's canon.
Just look at the Republic Troopers, they're literally Clone Troopers. It makes no sense at all. Is it really hard to create original designs?

No, I used to play it (played it since dec 2011 and took a 1.5 year break) and have several thousand hours clocked into it from reaching all classes/stories to 60 and doing a bunch of casual/social meme pvp in random guilds/premades and decorating my Dromund Kaas crib. What is so difficult about creating new factions? You make a new name, and a new backstory, and new motivations, and a new aesthetic, and boom, you're golden. The reason the Prequels were cool is because they had new stuff like the Separatists and the Republic and Naboo, and Kamino, and Mustafar, and a ton of other planets.
