Normalfags talk about stuff that wasn't even canon to dismiss the EU (Skippy). Let's talk about stuff that actually happened and is goofy.

In Rogue Squadron, Corran Horn goes undercover as a male sex slave. The mission is a success but he's captured and awakens tied up, explicitly naked. As he escapes a Super Star Destroyer, larger than all the land in Bronx county, emerges from under the cityscape of Coruscant (pic related).

>Hard Mode: No Marvel comics

Damn you. Wan Quixote was what I was gonna use. Only other thing I can think of is the Crystal Star, specifically the Chironians. I don't doubt the possibility of centaur-based lifeforms existing in the galaxy, but the Chironians were just so lazy in terms of culture, name, planet and attire. The Darth Bane stories are a good example of introducing greek-inspired creatures properly, the Crystal Star however was not. Whole thing was straight up goofy. That doesn't mean I hate it though, it had potential it just needed a far better author that wasn't an incompetent she-hack who was quite obviously a fucking trekkie. Vonda N. McIntyre is a fucking hack and I can only wonder why they let her write a book for SW.

>inb4 they just hired her to be the token female author at the time

To hell with that.

Also pic-related is also another example of something I found goofy from SW in Tales from the Cantina, but I actually liked that goofy romance unlike McIntyre's bullshit. Fuck your velvet shit, lady. Anyway, there's some other potentially goofy stuff, but nothing I genuinely hate like the Crystal Star.

Forgot to elaborate. That doesn't mean I hate the ideas and characters in the story, I just hated the story/author. I'm sure someone else like T.Z. could've done a far better job with some of those ideas.

I thought the Lusankya scene was brilliant and immensely dramatic, considering the takeoff was basically a WMD killing god knows how many civilians. Never understood why people thought it was goofy or stupid. It made sense that you could hide such a large thing in the twisted durasteel jungle of Coruscant, and guards probably kept away the curious. Also, I think it had this huge single-use repulsorlift plate which drops off after launch, also killing a ton of people, because that's how the Empire rolls when it needs to.

Well it is Coruscant. And prisoners of war captured by corrupt factions are kind of subjected to far worse humiliations.

It's pretty standard for brainwashing facilities to treat you like a gay. The point of Lusankya as a prison is that it's a mind-fuck. Nudity (especially in Star Wars) really goes a long way towards reinforcing that weird, bizarro feeling. Nudity is also used to dehumanize people, which helps when breaking them into mind-control slaves.

I would be a lot more OK with it if it's indestructibility was limited to the Supernova, it's the fact that it's literally invulnerable that broke it for me

I always figured detonating a sun would require you to out run the explosion like dropping a nuke. It was so indestructible that it flew through capital ships to destroy them. I mean did it need any other weapon then the torpedo launcher.

That raises the plot hole of why they don't get a lightsaber and chop it up instead of autopiloting it into a gas giant. Remember in Heir to the Empire Han destroyed a YT-1300 pretty casually with a lightsaber he never touched before.

I think the shit version is in an essential guide and a black and white comic, while the good one is on the cover of Dark Apprentice (the sun crusher book). I'd go with the good looking version because it's the primary source and has more style, and generally looks more Star Wars-ey than the ice cream cone.

The ssi-ruu designs are definitely goofy. At the time it was a logical stretch by itself to say that the rebels and empire should have truce just 24 hours after the Battle of Endor, but then making the unifying threat brightly colored velociraptors with nerf guns just killed it for me. Lucasfilm should have just continued on from the Thrawn trilogy instead of going back in time for this.

That was just a rumor that was never really confirmed. Supposedly Sly Moore was his lover but again those were just rumors in universe. They were close and Sly Moore personally handled the creation of Trioculus and she was also said to have birthed Palpatine's son Triclops either naturally or through genetic manipulation of Palpy's DNA (the latter is more likely considering Tri's mutation).

Whaladons. SAVE THE WHALES IN SPACE. When we said "space whales" the only thing people could think was about whaladons.

>Palpatine having sex doesn't sound unreasonable since Sith aren't like Jedi plebs.

It's goofy because Palpatine looks like a wrinkled ballsack. But for a more serious explanation, Palpatine was characterized as someone who transcended even the need for sex. He get off, got his jollies by simply having power (with his bouts of sadism) and getting high with the Dark Side.

Remember when Vader pointed that they were basically 2 mutilated freaks and would good would power have without joy?

>“Eventually you will come to see that power is joy

Palpatine answer was that power was joy.

>Space Whales

That would imply "whales swimming around in the vacuum of space" which is far goofier and exactly what Disney made which are now the source of hyperdrive technology. Whaladons however are just sentient whales who live exclusively in the seas of Dac and nowhere else. There are plenty of real life organisms in SW including humans. Having whales exist in some fashion isn't that goofy, the moral and story of the book regarding them was just cringy what with "Save the Whales" (seriously fuck Captain Planet). But in the end, the Whaladons' existence is reasonable (which is probably the only thing that book had going for it) in contrast to what we have now which are literal space fearing octowhales with hyperdrive engines in their asses who can go into hyperspace at will and took Thrawn and Ezra out for a drive with no coverage of any sort. That was far more idiotic. Whaladons were just some hippie "save the whales" shit.

>Palpatine looks like a wrinkled ballsack

Same is true for any old rich asshole in real life. Women don't care about looks, most of them will fuck a guy because he has money and power. The sex thing by itself was never really confirmed. The more commonly accepted in-universe rumor was Sly Moore stealing his DNA to make that faggot Triclops. So Palpy never did fuck around, unless it was necessary as the part of some plan to climb the political ladder, but I doubt he would ever reduce himself to such a petty thing to advance his political position.

Now if you wanna talk silly, get a load of the Sedrians. They're basically seal centaurs.
