They are a corps of professional redshirts.

What do you think happened to them?

The real question you should be asking is why doesn't any other species have something akin to the MACO's. Competent and highly trained marine style soldiers for manning their spaceships. Seing as everyone has transporters, boarding actions are pretty common in combat, so why the fuck is noone bringing specialists for the job?

Feds also can obtain the ENT MACO uniform with an ungodly amount of dilithium currency because the devs are fucking retarded and thought that would be a great way to offload dilithium horded by whales that use it to influence the currency exchange rates between dil and zen (store currency).

But those are all the equivalent of regular ship crew, not special forces detachments trained specifically for boarding actions.

The regular crew need to learn how to do their jobs operating the ship, which would detract from the amount of time they can devote to keeping their skills as the ship equivalent of a SWAT team after all.

Just think of how much grief Sisko could have avoided if he had a team like that. Or the klingons when they attacked and boarded DS9, using troops armed with bat'leths and knives…

LCARS is an operating system for ships and starbases, not for PADD's, which have their own OS, and that is clearly a PADD as designated by "PADD" in the upper left corner.

Incorrect, PADD's use LCARS too. LCARS changes significantly from thick to thin when transitioning from horizontal to vertical, with VERY few exceptions.

Those PADD pictures you posted do not have transitions. When they do have transitions, they are shown as proper LCARS.

Should read, "Show as proper LCARS transitions."

The images you posted are still proper LCARS, and the way I had originally written that sentence could be taken as an implication that they weren't.

062cd8 No.6069

>>6066

>Incorrect, PADD's use LCARS too

No. LCARS are explicitly for the terminals of starships and starbase. A PADD can connect to system using LCARS (as it is designed to), but it is not a LCARS system by itself. You are wrong.

641ced No.6074

>>6069

LCARS is also the name of the interface. It is used on PADD's. Even your supposed non LCARS pads are LCARS, they just don't feature horizontal to vertical transitions. Do an image search for 'trek padd.' You won't find a single federation PADD that doesn't have LCARS, except maybe in the jewjewniverse or ENT. You certainly won't see the shitsmears you posted.

OK Geordie has a custom engineering PADD he made himself, but that doesn't count. It has mechanical buttons for fuck's sake.

062cd8 No.6076

>>6074

>It is used on PADD's.

There is no mention of that, anywhere. It is mentioned that they can access any interface with LCARS, which tells us that they do no use LCARS but are capable of communicating it. You are wrong.

>I've already more than proven it

No, you haven't. Just because they look similar doesn't make them the same. LCARS are specifically mentioned to be for Starship and Starbase terminals, not PADD's, and PADD's are specifically mentioned to have the ability to connect and interface with LCARS rather than having it installed on them. You can ignore this all you want but that doesn't make it not the case. You. Are. Wrong. Period.

>I actually went and watched the video youposted

LCARS is an interface originally created for TNG. Read some of Okuda's comments on it. It's used for every federation interface.

>connect and interface with LCARS rather than having it installed on them.

LCARS is not just the operating system, it is also the interface. I bet you're the kind of guy that thinks fish sauce is for putting on fish because it's called "fish sauce." You don't have to be connected to anything to use LCARS. A PADD in a cave in the delta quadrant with no means of connecting to anything still has LCARS.

>I didn't post a video.

I don't check ID's compulsively. You need to relax. It's the video with the screenshots in question. You know, with the improper LCARS? Or did you just see the word LCARS and start flipping out not even realizing there was a video involved?

PADDS. Are. Specifically. Mentioned. To. Interface. With. LCARS. They have their own shit on them but it's not LCARS. I don't need to have Windows on my phone in order to connect it to a windows system, do I? It's got that functionality built into it. Same with PADD's.

How many times do you have faggots have to be told this? It's like arguing against a wall with you lot. Accept the facts or don't, I'm not arguing with any faggots anymore about this.

>Militarism

>the belief that a country should maintain a strong military capability and be prepared to use it aggressively to defend or promote national interests

Starfleet is a military organization (it is a defence force and a very large one, up to date technology etc) and it aggressively defends and promotes issues of national interest (shoving Federation values into every thing it can, trying to control conflicts in other factions, imposing itself onto smaller faction disputes, gets all up in the grills of the other superpowers, etc), and the Federation population and government is surely extremely pro-Starfleet.

Starfleet is new Earth militarism. What, you think not calling them warships makes them not fill that role and count? Ya dingus.

I have and I don't get what you're tying to say.

Are you trying to imply that a few Starfleet captains, officers, and cadets soured the entire Federation to Starfleet? Because that's not the end result there.

Or are you trying to say that you can't be pro-something without being willing to sacrifice all your rights to it entirely immediately without question? Because that would be a stupid thing to say, you double dingus.

No.
