I think it's for the best most of these never got greenlighted. Here's an example of the weird acid trip insanity that was proposed:
>Star Trek III
>an undeveloped story that Gene Roddenberry proposed for a Star Trek film. It involved the USS Enterprise, time-traveling Klingons, and the assassination of John F. Kennedy.
▶ 986ab2 (2) No.3213
Fug, created the thread by mistake.
Was going to add:
There are some interesting ideas though, lots of animated shows such as a Ferengi show and Sulu vs the Furrys. Also noticed a theme with a lot of proposed post Nemesis shows which was that the Federation would have essentially collapsed as everyone abandons the Federation.

So did the Klingons stop the crew in time?

My headcanon for that is that they all ended up in Rhodesia and took part in the Bush War in Bat'leth's and short shorts.

Christ, reading through this list of shit makes my head spin, I hate to imagine these are the only rejected ideas, that would explain Nemesis.
Ferengi animated series is the only good idea out of that lot.
Time traveling Justice League Picard sounds like some Bane Trek shit, put Nolan on that script.

Here's your friendly reminder that First Contact very nearly was going to be about the Enterprise going back to the time of the Renaissance and Data paling around with daVinci.

Q should have got his own variety show. It would have been called "Q". Hosted by Q, and he'd start the show with a monologue in front of a giant Q.

Well in the Doomsday Machine, Kirk mentioned to Scotty that he was earning his pay that week and I recall money being mentioned as being in use elsewhere. Could be that money was around during TOS but on the way out, sort of hard to say since Gene retroactively applied his "no money" stance to TOS/TMP stuff just a year or two before TNG was released; McCoy paying for a smuggler in the third film for instance and then you have no money basically weeks later in-universe.

Come to think of it I think it became the idea that earning money was no longer the sole motivation in mankind's life. Sounds pretty retarded I know but basically money did exist but you didn't really need it.

I misread that initially as Assimilation of John F. Kennedy. Which sounds a lot cooler.
