I think it's for the best most of these never got greenlighted. Here's an example of the weird acid trip insanity that was proposed:

>Star Trek III

>an undeveloped story that Gene Roddenberry proposed for a Star Trek film. It involved the USS Enterprise, time-traveling Klingons, and the assassination of John F. Kennedy.

986ab2 No.3213

Fug, created the thread by mistake.

Was going to add:

There are some interesting ideas though, lots of animated shows such as a Ferengi show and Sulu vs the Furrys. Also noticed a theme with a lot of proposed post Nemesis shows which was that the Federation would have essentially collapsed as everyone abandons the Federation.

>It involved the USS Enterprise, time-traveling Klingons, and the assassination of John F. Kennedy.

So did the Klingons stop the crew in time?

>That captcha, tho

My headcanon for that is that they all ended up in Rhodesia and took part in the Bush War in Bat'leth's and short shorts.

59bfab No.3238

Christ, reading through this list of shit makes my head spin, I hate to imagine these are the only rejected ideas, that would explain Nemesis.

Ferengi animated series is the only good idea out of that lot.

Time traveling Justice League Picard sounds like some Bane Trek shit, put Nolan on that script.

You have dishonored yourself and everyone who has ever fought with and against you.

Just imagined the rejected ideas they span around till they reached STD.

>Hey all those ideas to make something good?

>Let's throw them out the window and make SJW garbage!

67ba2d No.12805

Here's your friendly reminder that First Contact very nearly was going to be about the Enterprise going back to the time of the Renaissance and Data paling around with daVinci.

Q should have got his own variety show. It would have been called "Q". Hosted by Q, and he'd start the show with a monologue in front of a giant Q.

Sounds like that one Red Dwarf episode.

Might be for the best to be honest. Although even if they were going to make it I doubt it would have been made at the time.

It's time to pack up and go home, Mr. Dorn

e6bf96 No.13272

We would have actually got to see the civilian side of Star Trek more in depth. The writers then couldn't hide behind such vague bullshit as

>there is no muhney

>perfect communism!

Didn't Gene only come up with that trash for TNG?

The money thing came up in IV

59f9e8 No.13291

Oh yeah.

Man, but I need to watch those first four again. It's been such a long while.

and with Picard in First Contact.

>In the future we have no money

b13da1 No.13358

>>13354

Yeah, but that's TNG. We are talking about instances before TNG.

006177 No.13408

>>13358

Well in the Doomsday Machine, Kirk mentioned to Scotty that he was earning his pay that week and I recall money being mentioned as being in use elsewhere. Could be that money was around during TOS but on the way out, sort of hard to say since Gene retroactively applied his "no money" stance to TOS/TMP stuff just a year or two before TNG was released; McCoy paying for a smuggler in the third film for instance and then you have no money basically weeks later in-universe.

7ae803 No.13411

I thought it was a few specific planets like Earth and Vulcan didn't use money, but that the federation as a whole did?

240b46 No.13434

>>13411

Come to think of it I think it became the idea that earning money was no longer the sole motivation in mankind's life. Sounds pretty retarded I know but basically money did exist but you didn't really need it.

Lwaxana, a hypergeriatric Dr Pulaski , Moogi and android Juliana Soong in a space sewing circle. Yeah I think I would watch some episodes actually.

>>3212

He proposed that fucking idea multiple times. It is just so bad for self-evident reasons.

431ec9 No.23537

>>23531

No it is a bad idea. Entire episodes about Moogi trying to seduce the Klingon pool boy? Just watch blacked.com fag.

5bb4a0 No.23547

>>23537

>Klingon pool boy

<not Andorian pool boy

<not wanting to see geriatric Pulaski getting threatened to get sent off to Colony Shady Pines viii when she gets too mouthy

<not wanting to see Android Mrs Sung being a sweet airhead grandma

It's like you really don't want that great side Trek series actually get made or something. :^)

How bad could it be, any worse than STD I mean. But back on topic.

>>3212

>and the assassination of John F. Kennedy.

I misread that initially as Assimilation of John F. Kennedy. Which sounds a lot cooler.

>Ich bin ein Borg!

>Aye uh resistance is aye uh few-tile!

Borg queen starts to gloat how easily JFK fell to assimilation before she gets surprised groped by a Borg-ed JFK.

>Hey Queenie, let's say we both ah scram to the nearest regen pod and aye uh if you show me your borg box and spheres, I'll aye uh show you my ah cylindah!

cbb492 No.23556

>>23555

>Assimilation of John F. Kennedy.

Anon you should honestly write Star Trek. It's better than the trash that has been put out in the last decade.

d8bdb1 No.23589

>>23555

>The entire space race, which by various and sundry led directly to modern space exploration, which in Trek led to development of starships and the invention of warp, was all triggered by Kennedy

>He had previously been assimilated

>The Borg uplifted humanity into space so they'd have juicier tech to assimilate centuries later

This needs to be done.

3cadbd No.23635

>>23589

That was supposedly canon at some point.

7fed60 No.23637

>>23555

Trips of awesome. This should be a movie.

Anyone know much about undeveloped Star Trek vidya?
