Least favorite Trek: go!

>TOS:

>TNG:

>DS9:

>VOY:

>Book:

>Movie:

For me it's

>TOS: Pretty much anything with children, but "And the Children Shall Lead Them" gets right up my nose.

>TNG: "Emergence." The last season is when you should trot out your BEST writing and wrap-up any loose threads, not make something that belongs in the first season duds. Getting the holodeck pregnant was a frustrating episode in the middle of a countdown to the end.

>DS9: Any episode where Avery Brooks reminds us that "black people were once treated badly in the 50s"… in the mid-90s on a show that takes place in the 24th century.

>VOY: The one where Janeway's ancestor who looked exactly like her screws some old guy out of his business in the magical year 2000. You would think they'd have more to worry about, what with the fall of civilization due to the Eugenics Wars.

>TOS: And the Children Shall Lead

Absolutely dull as hell. A prime example of the fact that kids are shit actors.

>TNG: Sub Rosa

Watching Troi and Crusher talk about how much Crusher's grandma like to fuck a ghost, then watching Crusher get fucked by that same ghost minutes later was the second most disturbing thing I have ever witnessed in Trek.

>DS9: Profit and Lace

Watching an episode about a Ferengi sex-change is nightmare fuel of galactic proportions, and the most disturbing thing I have ever witnessed in Trek.

>VOY: 11:59

Easily the most dull episode in all of Star Trek. Janeway tells a long-winded tale about her ancestor. An ancestor who is an astronaught, that doesn't go to space, in a show about space. Instead she helps some old faggot save a library. Honestly, I would rather press a Terran agonizer to my balls than watch that shit episode ever again.

>Implying the worst Star Trek episode wasn't Shades of Grey

It's an episode of nothing but fucking flashbacks to previous episodes. It's in another level.

And as for an episode that wasn't just a way to say "We ran out of money and time. Sorry guys" "And The Children Shall Lead Them" is my choice.

>TOS: the one with the kids screaming (I think it was in TOS).

>TNG: It's a Wesley episode and the one where Doc Crusher fucked a ghost.

>DS9: I'd say every "Chief can you fix that?" episode but I think the worst DS9 was the one where the crew get stuck in a game at Quark's bar.

>VOY: The episode where Janeway rewrites the body and the personality of a character in the holodeck just so she can get her pussy wet. This was so disgusting and of course no one on the ship thought that she was creepy.

>ENT: The "muh third gender" episode with Andreas Katsulas as guest star.

68cd33 (1) No.1324>>1329

>TNG: Riker dates a tranny. Or it's some "agender" species or something, but either way it was just a bleeding asshole muh oppresshun sideplot.

>DS9: One of the later white guilting episodes involving a heist. Ended with a very special episode kind of aesop, iirc.

>VOY: I'm honestly not sure how to pick out a particularly bad episode. People mention the "warp ten turned Paris and Janeway into lizards" episode, but I think pretty much anything that happened in the holodeck trumps that in terms of sheer unwatchability.

Also, The Naked Now is GOAT.

>Also, The Naked Now is GOAT.

I can't sign off on that, personally but I respect your opinion. However, The Naked Now will always represent for me "what might have been."

>Writers told to link Old Trek to New, somehow

>two ideas

>The Naked Now is one

>The other involves the Enterprise D checking in on the mob planet run by Bella Oxmyx and the gang. The one where McCoy had left his communicator behind.

>Given that the people are a highly adaptive and imitative race, the Enterprise D encounters a world where everyone dresses like the original Enterprise crew and imitates Federation values

>Scrapped because it wasn't financially doable in the beginning, whereas the Naked Now only required the making of an underboob dress and some hair gel for Tasha Yar.

>>1325

>the episode wasn't bad per say, but i'm really mad that they killed him, they literally had no justification and didn't hide it

I know that feel. The whole was far more enjoyable than the sum of his parts.

>>Enterprise: vulcans were actually on earth in the 20th century

>>ENT: The "muh third gender" episode

Any Trek episode that involves tranny shit is always weird, but what really bothered me about that episode was the end when Archer tears into Trip. Not only does Archer lay out why Trip's actions were unwarranted, but even goes as far as to aggresively point out flaws in his character. It felt like an all-out personal attack. I felt profoundly depressed afterwards.

>>1329

>>The other involves the Enterprise D checking in on the mob planet run by Bella Oxmyx and the gang. The one where McCoy had left his communicator behind.

>>Given that the people are a highly adaptive and imitative race, the Enterprise D encounters a world where everyone dresses like the original Enterprise crew and imitates Federation values

That would have been an amazing episode. What I find truly sad about this is that they had 7 seasons to do it and never did. Worse still is that it will never happen now, it's far too late.

I don't know if it's the worst episode from TNG, but The Game is definitely up there

>Hey guys, have you heard Wesley is coming here on vacation?

>Happy birthday Wesley we all made you your favorite things

>Wow you're so good at everything, Wesley

>Hey look at this ensign engineer, she's so quirky with her laws xD

>Oh no now Wesley and his boring ass love interest have to save the day

>Wesley successfully fools everyone on board the Enterprise once or twice before he's captured but everything works out just fine anyway

It's the epitome of a Wesley episode and why he's such a hateable cunt

>>Hey look at this ensign engineer, she's so quirky with her laws xD

Yet another reason to avoid Peter David's New Frontier series: Lefler's Laws are given out ad nauseum.

>It's the epitome of a Wesley episode and why he's such a hateable cunt

Given that he was Gene's self-insert, I've always wondered if he and Wil Weaton would get drunk together and try to figure out why everyone hated them so damn much.

>>1336

>Worse still is that it will never happen now, it's far too late.

I made it most of the way through the first season, it it was excruciating. It's all sitting around talking about shit and family problems. It's like back-to-back after school specials, set in the Star Trek universe, with none of the exploration or intrigue that makes Star Trek great. Supposedly it gets better later on, but it seems hollow when it just comes across as an extended apology for an unforgivably terrible beginning. Shit, the only reason I sat through the first episode was pain pills. I wanted to punch the screenwriters and everyone after them in the production process in every sexual organ they had.

In case I forgot to mention it earlier, I absolutely hate the space hippies episode, "The Way To Eden." I think the character prosthetics are ugly and unimaginative, and I can't understand why the hell Kirk let them get away with all of their silly-buggers. Dying from poisoned fruit was the least they deserved.

However, there's something that's been nagging at me since I started watching TOS and surfing /strek/. The guy who plays Adam looks vaguely familiar. Then I realized who he looked like and… well, I looked it up to be certain.

Charles Fucking Napier.

Mind blown. Man alive, he went from young to grizzled in a very short amount of time, but he managed to stay old until 2011. RIP in peace, soldier.

First one was flagrant pandering/moichandizing. Second would have been a good MLP episode. Spock's Brain was worse than Operation Annihilate tho.

>TOS:

Spock's Brain (shitposting that got put on air, the writers admitted they were making fun of Roddenberry's idea of sci-fi)

Space Romans (either do a parallel universe episode or change it from Roman to Roman-like/allegory/parallel but with spacey aesthetics or something, don't do both)

Patterns of Force (same problem, either make it a parallel Nazi victory timeline or make the aliens use local symbols/local take on the nazi aesthetic instead of perfectly duplicating actual nazi uniforms and gear that one would think would be outdated since they're capable of interplanetary travel on a wide enough scale to at least consider invading their neighbors practicable)

City on the Edge of Forever, compared to what it could have been

>TNG:

Symbiosis (oh look, the hippies are telling the young people to Just Say No after they got sick of drugs themselves and became yuppies)

Writer's Strike Flashback Episode

Rascals

Disaster or whatever the one was where they lost power was good but worse because muh chilluns

Anything revolving around the holodeck

Wesley episodes other than the nanite one

90% of the crap with Q

Naked Now and other obvious TOS knockoffs

Sub Rosa

The Outrageous Okana I'm convinced was a rejected script from the original Battlestar Galactica

>DS9:

The romance arc with Nerys and Dukat

Anything revolving around the holosuite

>VOY:

The giant poorly-CGI'd virus one

Anything revolving around the holodeck, especially the Hirogen Nazi ones

Warp 10 Lizards

Tuvix

other science-is-magic ones

Chakotay eps (cringily-done, and the producers/director/whatever clown was in charge of it thought a spider monkey looked 'alien enough' for that one episode that would have been better if they'd canonically had Preserver stuff on the planet)

>ENT:

Mpreg, because mpreg and the disticnt possibility it was made because of the writer's Magical Realm, not because muh trannies

>Book:

Didn't make it through any bad ones.

>Movie:

V, Generations, Insurrection, Nemesis, NuTrek; still haven't seen NuTrek: Remake of Khan or NuTrek: The One Everybody Swears Isn't That Bad

IDW did the Harlan Ellison version if you want me to storytime it. It's pretty good, although Ellison's version couldn't have been shot at the time. The morals codes being what they were didn't help (no drugs on TV), but the crazy sonuvabitch wanted a mammoth to come running out the portal. There's no way the budget or tech at the time could have let that story work. These days it would be easy-peasy, but not back then.

I hate twin-earth episodes aswell, but this one had somewhat of a decent explanation for it, aside maybe from the usual aliens looking exactly like human bs: the history professor that fell on the planet reformed its culture taking nazi germany as an example, thus importing nazi ideology and iconography in it
