INTEL DUMP:

The latest string of military aircraft crashes were due to direct interference from an electronic warfare device located on the Chinese space station.

The same space station that was just brought down (on purpose) to mitigate the threat.

Threat is not completely eradicated. Other devices capable of causing the same interference in GPS systems likely still exist but not capable of easy, clandestine deployment such as from the Chinese space station.

BOOMs (Multiple US Nuke Subs) have been deployed.

They are in direct communication with the Castle (WH Situation room).

Radio Chatter exchanged, mission parameters given, will no go silent with a pre-determined time to re-establish comms for further instructions.

Chess pieces in place for retaliation.

But wasn't the space station deactived and in a decaying orbit for at least a couple months? I understand that they could lie about it being deactivated but why leave it in a decaying orbit?

All objects of that size in the mesopause part of Earths atmosphere will decay in orbit unless they have the ability to maintain velocity and orbital boosting. A dead station will slowly decay and eventually fall to earth.

The [operation] against the device on the station required plausible deniability, so it was decided to fast forward the stations ability to maintain orbital velocity and cause a rapid orbital decay.

Blowing up the station leaves an evidence trail and would cause questions.

We most certainly have the capability built in to our satellites to cause damage to other orbiting devices. EMP is very simple to deploy and all stations are solid state controlled so very easy to disrupt their operation.

Additional;

Clarifying: While the station itself was "deactivated" we did not trust the device on the station was deactivated. Had to take additional measures.

Got it, that makes sense. Makes me wonder if Xuma was launched for that purpose.
