ALL, OUR REPUBLIC IS AT STAKE;
If we get through this by the apparent thin thread we currently are on, we MUST fix Impeachment Law relating to presidents the minute the Republicans capture both houses this fall. Either we must scrap it altogether, or make serious fixes outlined below.
Scraping Entirely:
1. It appears to have NEVER worked well. It consumes far too much time, energy, and our souls.
2. Let's leave this up to the people, it only lasts four years.
3. By the time the Damage & Destruction Team receives a final vote, we are probably within two years or less of the next election, so just let the people handle it.
4. We just witnessed the framers worst nightmare of nightmares, a totally partisan coup. This one was CLEAR about what it was.
5. What fools the American people were made to be, just look what we put in Washington, immature hardened criminals, many with complete disregard for the law. God, I can hardly stand it because WE did it. Idiots ! We learned how easily people we trusted could SO easily and blatantly lie !!
6. Folks, if the vote to impeach occurred, who would we have appealed to? The only course would have been civil war, the armed kind.
7. 'Get it", this DID weaken us abroad, and unfairly caused our President so much more work and energy and $$$ cost on everything he did. Basically padded every "To DO" list or step he had.
8. We just can not let it get this close again, I am really, really pushing hard for an Amendment to Constitution to completely scrap Impeachment of Presidents.
9. Let's take this unfair tool out of the hands of haters. We don't respect those people anyway, why gift this tool to them.
Impeachment Fixes (if instead of elimination)-
1. We MUST pass new legislation to require House Managers to swear under OATH, for the duration, that ALL arguments and claims within the written Articles, or stated to the press, are truthful. Why does the Senate swear under oath but House does not have this same requirement. This is WRONG WRONG WRONG. WE MUST change this !! NO IMMUNITY FOR LIES !!
2. New legislation should set clear House Rules regarding a full vote first prior to an investigations and/or subpoenas.
3. We need a stipulation that no requests would be made of the Senate for further witnesses or documents, other than for drastic unforeseen circumstances.
4. The presiding judge would not be able to rule on most things other than trial process (similar to what we saw 2020) and that the courts would be the party to decide on other issues.
The American Republic and its people NEED this security and peace of mind. We saw the closest thing to a coup possible. Whew, lucky this time, probably not lucky again, lets just fix it !
