Translation: I had no idea this has happened to every Empire since the beginning of history, so I will construct a misinformed theory that fits my tiny sphere of knowledge.
Start with any point in history, and if history is reasonable complete you will see that some group of elites ( by birth, war or title though themselves entitled to rule over subservient, powerless people using all the tools of money, legal authority, physical force, fame & glory, money,etc
Call the the nobility or landed gentry, or royals
Some acquired wealth & stature via 1,000 years of the inheritance laws, various customs that the common people accepted. Might makes right is their motto, and the were always above the law via royal edict or papal dispensations. They made the rules - the little people followed them
They lived in splendor, while other were in squalor. They intermarried with others of their kind, and passed dynastic wealth & power to their descendants
One by one their empires rose to greatness and regional control. until the collapsed of their own internal squabble & corruption OR were conquered by another group very much like them and the cycle repeats.
The biggest difference today is one empire rose of its own effort and surpassed them all, and could have ruled the all, but didn't.
Knowing they could never take back their dynasties, and could never defeat this global "empire", they resorted to infiltrate, sabotage it and loot it for themselves. They needed willing accomplices and found them plentiful. Saboteur, who like Benedict Arnold, considered themselves above the rabble and deplorables,
The joined forces and recruited their "secret" army of saboteurs, and found many willing accomplices who, like they, considered themselves superior - above the common man, and they made the Faustian bargain.
Their habits and customs were around since Babylonian times, and mostly were an irreligious set. They invented new religions and revived old ones that served them in centuries gone by from those that promised a "heaven on earth", no penalties upon death, and a do-over for those who believed in ancient religions that promised perpetual live.
What we see today is simple what has been allowed to accumulate more and faster that previous empires, and greater methods to rule over much larger population Propaganda (Nazi), distraction & diversion (Roman bread & circuses) self-government (as long as it was controlled by "wise men" behind the scenes).
You get the picture. It is time to collapse the "empirical power" and reset its governance back on track.
Most importantly, without the destruction, devastation, misery and deaths that were the norm in previous periods.
Q & his team ARE that reset. We are the observers &witnesses to a reset of a regular human cycle, but on a scope and scale never seen before
